A Republican candidate for mayor in Florida is facing scrutiny for telling the supporters of his opponent to “go back to Africa” during a debate Tuesday, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.
Paul Congemi, a white man who is in the mayoral race for St. Petersburg, fired back at his white campaign opponent Jesse Nevel, who centered his campaign on calling for government reparations for African-Americans.
“The reparations that you talk about, Mr. Nevel, your people already got your reparations. Your reparations came in the form of a man named Barack Obama

A better answer would have been:
“I agree with you. African Americans SHOULD get reparations. That’s why I advocate ending the Democrat Party, liquidating its assets, and using them to pay reparations.
“After all, the Democrats were the party of slavery, the KKK, Jim Crow and segregation. And they were the party that filibustered against the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
“I think you and your supporters should go right down to the Democrat National Headquarters and march, protest and DEMAND reparations.
“And YOU Mr. Nevel, should be absolutely ashamed of yourself for associating yourself with The Democrat Party, and for using them to further your own personal career.”
“Shame! SHAME! Mr. Nevel!”

There are 25 excellent countries in Africa. We should crowd-fund reparations in the form of a one-way ticket to the country of their choice...attendant upon their denying US citizenship.
Heck? Why not extend this policy to all Americans? Why discriminate against non-African immigrants?

The greatest reparations whites could give blacks is to leave them alone, so they can fix the shattered remnants of their broken culture.
The funny thing is that I’ve read about how the media in many African countries are certainly not the politically correct Looney Tunes or Muppets characters like they are over here and that even Obama was not terribly popular in many regions there.

He should call a press conference--they'll all show up, smelling blood and hoping for pitiful and futile contrition--and give exactly that speech. Then he should refuse all questions, turn on his heel, and leave.
The rest of the campaign should be a whirlwind of TV ads--lots of Klan hood and the like--and radio spots and tweets built around that theme.
They wouldn't know where to stick their fork.
The guy is certifiably nuts. Not a good campaign move. But on the other hand, St. Pete is not going to elect a Republican as mayor anyway.
Paul is just SO tolerant!
Here's a hint, Paul: You deserve to lose the election if you have to defend your own idiotic comments by denying that you are a racist.
If you can't play the political game competently, get out of politics.
I seem to recall from 8th grade history class that the African country of Liberia was established after the War Between the States to repatriate freed slaves to their country of origin.
Clearly, not too many of them thought it was a good idea.
Liberia should be offered a generous cash lump sum with annual payments to host a US penal colony there.
