I’m sure all the leftist-green cyclers in Oregon will complain about tax, but still focus on hating Trump and conservatives.

The phenomenon is called “cognitive dissonance.”

Double the tax...but earmark it for those ridiculously expensive bicycle paths. We have miles and miles here of paved paths. I have yet to see anyone on a bicycle. (I know they do use it...but so few for the money.

And now we have doggie parks. There should be a fee...sick of supporting "extras".

If you drive a car, I’ll tax the street
If you try to sit, I’ll tax your seat
If you get too cold I’ll tax the heat
If you take a walk, I’ll tax your feet

Taxman!

Cos I’m the taxman, yeah I’m the taxman

“She just continues to view the people of her state as nothing more than a piggy bank to fund her efforts to impose job-killing policies,” said Mr. Currier in a statement. “Now add anti-healthy, environmentally-unfriendly policies to that list.”

Well, guess who elected her?

Welcome to liberal paradise where tax-payers main purpose is to fund liberal pipe dreams.

Will there also be registration?

What about home builts?

Look for a new 25.9 inch diameter design to become available.

Or maybe they will be smuggled in from out of state - - OH NO!

And just wait until they start registering them like cars and have to pay additional fees.

I always appreciate this kind of poetic justice.

It's a $15 tax on the purchase of adult-sized bicycles to pay for improvements to bike lanes.

I see no problem with this.

At least they're not forcing everyone to pay the tax (or just smokers).

I'd gladly pay this tax for improvements to bike lanes where I live. I'd love to ride my bike five miles to the store. It's great exercise but I'm not about to risk my life riding on the side of the road with cars zipping past me.

Plentiful, safe bike lanes were something I took for granted living in Colorado. I just assumed they were everywhere. Moving to Jacksonville, I learned different.

What is the tax for? It’s my bike, I use my own muscles, my own food for fuel, my own lungs. Very minimal (read: no) damage to the roads.

No, I didn’t read the article.

FU Oregon legislators.

Here’s the solution, just tax the richest 50% of bike riders so as to support the other 50% - clearly the top 50% didn’t deserve their break in life and should pay the whole tax.

Reminds me of the old miniature plates for bikes, that you got with enough Honeycomb box tops.

Didn’t these fools in Salem try to impose a mileage tax on motor vehicles?
I can’t find much on it, other than a Wikipedia reference to a 5,000 user trial program supposed to have started in 2015: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_miles_traveled_tax

Gee, how’s that going, mohrons?
