The revelation that Donald Trumps son, son-in-law and campaign manager met with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer promising information that would incriminate Hillary Clinton was a true bombshell in an era when we have become almost inured to them. Here was proof that members of Mr. Trumps presidential campaign had, at the very least, been eager to collude with Russia to influence the 2016 election.
No one could gainsay the facts: Mr. Trumps own son published them on Twitter.
As recently as five or 10 years ago, every major news outlet would have treated this set of facts as front-page news and a dire threat to Mr. Trumps presidency.
Not anymore. Look to the right now and youre apt to find an alternative reality in which the same set of facts is rearranged to compose an entirely different narrative. On Fox News, host Lou Dobbs offered a representative example on Thursday night, when he described the Donald Trump Jr. email story, with wild-eyed fervor, like this: This is about a full-on assault by the left, the Democratic Party, to absolutely carry out a coup détat against President Trump aided by the left-wing media.
Mr. Dobbs isnt some wacky outlier, but rather an example of how over the last several years the conservative underworld has swallowed up and subsumed more established right-leaning outlets such as Fox News.

Voting for Trump to be our President, made 62+ million of us into Dumb Deplorable Colluders, MAGA!
The Ny Slimes, Compost, LaRazaLa Slimes, ABCNNBCBS/FAUX and all of the left wing Fake News operators can go into an alley, whine, have group mixed sex, and get drugged out! We don’t believe their Russia/Russia/Russia Fake bs posing as news!
We are Dumb/Deplorable Colluders. (check my colluding tagline which is not copyrighted and any other Dumb Deplorable Colluders can use it!)
MAGA!
LOL, the NYT idiots really think that we’re too stupid to know that Obama/Hillary actively colluded with Russia while in office to undermine the U.S., because they didn’t report it honestly. Now, we’re all supposed to get our knickers in a twist because someone from the Trump campaign was willing to talk to them.
They honestly believe that if you tell a lie often enough it becomes truth. They’re like little children with their hands over their ears because if they don’t hear the truth, it will not exist.
It used to be that if a secretary of state had egregious lapses in security of top secret information that involved national security, breaking rules that every dweeb from the janitors to the cafeteria workers are trained annually on how not to leak confidential information, that both parties would express outrage and call for that person to be tried and likely sentenced to jail.
So don’t come whining to us about a case of selective outrage. Trump Jr. was (and has always been) a private citizen. He’s not a federal employee so he can’t be held to the standards of federal employees. In addition, the emails make clear that nothing of importance was transacted between the two parties so if you can excuse Bill Clinton “colluding” with Loretta Lynch over Hillary and then excusing it to say they were only discussing grandchildren, then Trump Jr. should be excused for naively taking the bait of a Russian spy when all they talked about was adopting children.
Where and what time will the NYT have the pity party?
So damn true, Al Qaeda and ISIS only wish they could do the kind of damage to the USA that the US media has done. What makes the media especially vile is we have tens of millions of people in this country who take every word the media says as absolute fact when what they are getting are absolute lies. So as a result we have all these people walking around who think Hillary is the epitome of integrity and that Obama was the greatest POTUS of all time and that Trump is Hitler. It’s amazing, it’s like the media has this massive army of programmable automatons and THAT is causing massive problems in this country.
People who work at journalism full time ought to be able to do a better job of it than people for whom it is a hobby. But that's not going to happen as long as we "professional" journalists ignore stories we don't like and try to hide our mistakes.
We think of ourselves as "gatekeepers.
But there is not much future in being a gatekeeper

I’m still blown away every time I see pro Russian sentiment on Free Republic. Folks, Russia IS still the enemy.
Putin’s policy isn’t to further Christianity in Russia and the world. His policy is to further Russia’s power. He isn’t against muslims. He just wants the muslims in power to be supportive of Russia. That is his policy is Syria.
There is a reason that many of the countries around Russia have joined NATO or want to join NATO (Ukraine, Georgia) or are aligning their military with NATO without formally joining NATO (Finland). And the reason isn’t because of Russia’s primary religion.
People are voting with their feet. In this case, their military alliances. That speaks volumes for the nations that know Russia best.
Yes, the First Amendment is non-negotiable when understood rightly. 1A does not establish titles of nobility in contravention of Article 1 Section 9. And 1A is a prohibition of an established priesthood whom Americans are obliged to submit to.>It follows from that that freedom . . . of the press is a right of the people. Freedom of speech is the right of the people to say (within very wide limits) what they wanna - and to listen to whoever they wanna. Freedom of the press is the right of the people to spend their own money on presses, ink, and paper or whatever technology anyone uses for the purpose of promoting their political, or other, opinion.
This means that constituting the Federal Election Commission was an abuse of Congressional authority, and it should be sued for exercising any of its putative powers. It also calls the FEC into question.
Note that the framers of the Constitution
did anticipate radio, TV, the Internet, and so forth - in principle. So it would seem arguably unconstitutional, under the Ninth Amendment, for the government to shut down the Internet or radio or TV.
- Article 1 Section 8.:
- The Congress shall have power . . . To promote the progress of science and useful arts, by securing for limited times to authors and inventors the exclusive right to their respective writings and discoveries . . .

“Look to the right now and youre apt to find an alternative reality in which the same set of facts is rearranged to compose an entirely different narrative.”
That’s exactly the way I see it, except it’s the MSM doing the spinning, NOT Breitbart.
Liberal elite democrats, the Deep State, and MSM work WITH GERMAN AND EU ELITES to assist the flood of 3rd world cheap labor into our countries. Maybe we just remember ...
First World War: the Allies (good guys) France, Britain, Russia, Italy and the United States etc... AGAINST GERMANY
Second World War: Allies (good guys) Britain, France, Australia Russia, Canada etc... AGAINST GERMANY.
“...relentless anti Trump posturing during the campaign defined them not as objective journalists but as crude propagandists. They are simply not trusted or believed.”
This youtube video juxtaposes MSNBC ‘talent’ talking against the later reality of the election. It backs up what you’re saying 100% allendale...

Even some people on the right criticize Pinochet because he did “terrible things.” But, you see, that’s the position the left puts us in. They try to create conditions in which undoing their agenda isn’t possible without going to outrageous extremes. The left counts on good, Christian, conservative people to be unwilling to do what’s needed to reverse the damage they have done.
But Pinochet refused to fall into that trap. To protect his country, Pinochet did whatever was needed. People were “disappeared,” martial law was declared and numerous other “bad” things were done. But the blame for all of it belongs to the leftists. They put Pinochet in the position of either being a monster, or watching his country be destroyed. He chose to be a monster because that is what was required to keep the country from being destroyed.
Trump will soon face the same choice.

I was talking to a German vendor one time about poor performance in executing their end of a contract and I said “Now, don’t make us come over there and kick your ass again!”
I agree...it came down to either Pinochet and his men being executed, or the Leftists getting that fate, along with turning Chile into another Cuba. Obviously Pinochet took the best option for both himself and his country.
Hopefully it won’t have to go as far with Trump, but like yourself, I would not be surprised if it does end up going that far, because we’re fighting virtually the same people.
[The Ministry of Propaganda is losing control of the decreed narrative, evidently.]
They gave the lies their best shot!!
