The Washington Times ^ | July 12, 2017 | Dave Boyer

President Trump said Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin would have preferred if Hillary Clinton won the presidential election last year.

In an interview with Christian Broadcasting Network founder Pat Robertson at the White House, Mr. Trump tried to debunk claims that Russia wanted to help him win the election.

Good analysis. It never made much sense about Putin apposing Hellary since she and Obama were such pushovers or could be bought.

The Republicans are behind this too.

Where does that leave all the Putin-worshiping Trump supporters?

I’m sorry but nothing can make that evil, corrupt, murderous, lying, loud, shrill, scheming, thieving, child trafficking, nasty shrew look better than President Trump!

Was Putin relishing the thought of war that Hillary was certain to bring?

“so they push stories and setups that Trump is in collusion with them to damage him”

When did the Russians ever push the narrative that Trump was in collusion with them?

It was always the Clinton’s, the DNC, the Democrats in congress, and their propaganda machine (the MSM) that pushed that narrative.

First, before the election, they pointed the finger at the Russians to discredit any dirt on Hillary being leaked - the idea was if it came from whistleblowers within he DNC or the Clinton Foundation, etc, it would be damaging, but if it came from the Russians, they could dismiss it as outside meddling in our election - not to be believed.

Next, after she lost, they started playing up the Trump involvement angle to damage and hopefully impeach Trump and as an excuse for why she lost.

Putin has consistently denied it, saying it was a silly notion, which it is.

Any sane person knows and has always known the Russians would rather have a Democrat POTUS because they are weak appeasers, gullible negotiators, and niaive globalists. They raid the military budget to finance more social programs and generally do not put America first. Their socialist economic agenda inevitably leads to a weakened economy, hence a weak military.

In what world would the Russians rather her have Trump than Hillary Clinton? That idea was obvious baloney from the beginning.

This article is not telling us anything we didn’t already know.

Many here speculated the same thing, many months ago during and after the election.

It’s simple—Hillary and everything she has is up for sale.

It’s true. Natural gas shipments introduce big competition for Russia.

But Trump’s work destroying ISIS has been helpful to mother Russia.

I’m confident that Trump will know what Putin really needs and deliver it to him as part of a larger deal. The US and Russia will become big allies, but it will take some time.

Russia has a lot of programmer talent and smart engineers. Putin needs to unleash that talent more. Relying on the energy industry to rebound isn’t going to happen for them.

So Trump is forcing Russia to face reality. Long term, their energy business will remain weak.

Thank God for the American ingenuity that created fracking technology: it might very well force Russia out of the military tough guy role so it spends less on defense and stops intimidating its customers.

Oil and natural gas is become beautiful international leverage for us. And the ex-CEO of Exxon Mobile is our Secretary of State! What a coincidence.... not!

I agree with what you said. Some part of me has to think that Putin actually respects Trump, and believes that Trump is likely more trustworthy than Hillary. And Putin is likely relieved not to have 0bama on steroids, to deal with here, as far as promoting all the “globalism” crap.

This does not take a genius to figure out. No way would Vladimir Putin want Donald Trump to become the US President. He would have recognized an alpha male who loved his country, and one who could not be easily fooled.

Hillary OTOH, was like putty in Vlad’s hands.

Personally I think the e-mail story about Don Jr. was a set-up, like an entrapment.

The Democrats have met Tsar Vladimir many more time than anyone from the Trump family. They also agree with the Tsar's lament over the collapse of the Soviet Union.

In short, the Democrats are being their normal hypocritical selves.

You asked: When did the Russians ever push the narrative that Trump was in collusion with them?

Excellent question, and you see how effective the MSM has been in getting many to just accept, as truth, ideas such as Russia pushing the collusion narrative. I believe Russia has just sat back and chuckled a great deal over the past 8 months, watching the Dems and the MSM churn out so many “unnamed sources” “facts” about this.

Of course.

HRC was already extortable. If the "Russia hacked my email" story is correct, then Russia had all the secret information she illegally sent and received. She would be going in as a compromised president subject to an enemy holding indictable information over her.

Putin wouldn’t even need to sandbag Hillary. She was already all in for making deals with him and every other tyrant on the planet. More like he felt that he needed to hit her with a stick now and then to keep her from humping his leg so much.

I am trying to think of a criminal statute for this. Attempted acceptance of a solicitation to freely provide negative facts on an opposing candidate from an individual who has no such facts and does not provide any in a 15 minute meeting. Seems to me the individual showing up for the meeting could have been alleged “Trump cheerleader” Putin himself and we still do not have a crime unless a definitive quid pro quo of government favors can be proven.Oh, that’s right, Trump was not even an elected official and had no government favors to barter. That’s a Hillary specialty.Collusion, you say. Collusion how? You mean sometime thereafter Trump allowed Putin access to DNC systems and allowed them to hack Podesta’s e mails and distribute them publicly and did not punish the Russians. Oh, that’s right Trump had no access to DNC systems and had no authority to punish the Russians. That’s an Obama thing. Was there ever a presidential candidate campaign staff in history that would not take such a meeting including Hillary and Obama?Wasn’t this called campaign politics in the old days?  Now all of a sudden the DNC mouthpiece NYT is trying to create a somethinggate narrative for it.This does not even rise to the level of fake news. It is no news.

There’s no crime.

The Dem hope is someone lied to an investigator - how they got Martha Stewart. Lying is a crime even if what they lied about wasn’t. Weird, bu that’s the law.

Short of that I don’t see anything they can charge Don Jr. with if what we’ve seen is all they’ve got.

Been nearly a year of all this and that’s all they found? Yawn.

But it’s distracted the MSM from all Trump is getting done. Also gives the RINO a reason to sell out.

The RINOs wanted Trump weakened so he won’t back primary challengers to them.
