A growing number of Californians want to secede from the U.S., according to a new poll by Supporters of California Independence.
Thirty-three percent of the people surveyed were in favor of the idea, the majority of them saying they are progressives or social Democrats.

Agreed it could be a long process. But I don’t think Richmond had much influence in the creation of West Virginia.
My question is.. how many divisions can Sacramento muster up to stop those regions from breaking from CA, especially if a friendly USG is in the mood to help?
There would not be a war. Nobody is going to die when they can simply move back to the USA under a treaty of relocation in lieu of secession. Also, Americans will have a opportunity to move to CA from the USA prior to final secession. This will clean out the other 49 of leftist agitators. The self cleaning oven affect.

I truly wish that the US House Republican whip would take a poll among Republican congressmen, to see how many would be inclined to accept California’s petition for secession.
How many were US citizens?
Forget the financial issues, what do the People’s Republic of California do when Mexican forces cross the border? Or narco-terrorists take over the state? Or portions of LA chose to secede pledging their allegiance to Mexico? Or face the fact that a good portion of the state is US federal lands including all the military bases? Will they shoot the state workers burning cars in the streets when they realize their retirements are not funded?
Add CA to the travel ban.
But don’t you dare question a liberal’s patriotism!
If they were to secede, it would be interesting to see what kind of military structure they would establish to protect their new country. Would the leftist loons out there even allow California to have a military?

Californians seceded years ago it’s not a state it’s a waste land of lawlessness.
I live in California and say bring CalExit on.
#1. Removing the left wing liberals and their illegal Mexican voters from national elections will kill the rat party nationwide at the presidential level, and at the $inate level and House level. (See #3 below!)
#2. Then, our president Trump with the backing of Congress will stop any federal $’s from coming into California. That will kill all of their liberal funding and turn Californicator land into a really big bankrupt Chicago!
#3. Calexit will ensure a new state of Jefferson including the conservative parts of California, Oregon and Washingon.
That will give us 2 new senators and a large # of new house members. Remember if there is a CalExit, the national rat party loses two $inators and a 39 rat house members, including Pelosi and Mad Maxine. That will destroy the rats at the national level
The new State of Jefferson will invite a few border or parts of some CalExit counties to join on a probational status.
Then, the new left wing Calexit/Californicator country will make Chicago look like a wonder city re financial and safety wise re behavioral issues.
The streets of SF, Oakland, San Jose and LA will become like a middle east country with the BLMers and La Raza thugs killing each other 24/7 for territory and what little charity remains.
Millions of illegals will run back to Mexico as there will be no financial benefits nor jobs in CalExit. They and their families will become targets of the turf/$ wars in CalExit.
The national Rat party knows about 1-3 above, and they will terminate any key Californians wanting to succeed. Mark Rich happenings will occur up and down California on a regular basis with key rats pushing CalExit to prevent a CalExit.
So bring Calexit on. I will volunteer to get signatures at local Whole Food stores.
Wait until Russia and/or China get involved to “support” their independence.

The 33% are mostly liberals. What if NOT ALL of California wants to secede, but a majority in coastal idiotland wants to secede? Let a hunk of California secede?
