United Nations Security Council Meeting on North Korea The United Nations Security Council meets to discuss the latest developments in North Korea and efforts to prevent the government there from further development of its nuclear program.
“Either way, it has to be done. Its in the core, strategic, existential interests of the US to ensure Norklandia cannot marry a nuke to an ICBM.”
In a nutshell. Should be the news story of the day, if we had any news media.
And there it is....
"US prepared to use full range..."
"there are countries allowing, even encouraging trade with NK"
Not acceptable.
Looks like we may have to make do with the clothes we have and can get from places other than China....
Puleeze people. How many clothes and shoes do you need?
Did they tell ya in old America a married couple could buy a brand new home on one single income? And there was plenty of money left for shoes, medical, vacations etc. Try that in today's America.
Whatever they cook up the Red Chinese and Russians will veto it.
All this means is we’re about to attack. Get the U.N. on notice and let them put out some wimpy wishes. When that doesn’t pan out, we tried the diplomatic angle and its on record.
"This is totally unacceptable"
"A number of Japanese fishing vessels were out during the launch"
"Could have reached many other member states soil"
"Enormous global threat"
"no other choice left for us now than to work together to increase pressure against NK"
Maybe I’m just a paranoid old crank, but I hear a fan and smell feces.
soon Iran will be able to reach europe. We need to ramp up unless China is ready to hit them hard in the wallet
"yet again the security council is meeting following a grave and unjustifiable violation by NK..."
"Nk continues its reckless behavior"
"(NK)Continues to ignore calls to reason"
"France condemned the missile launch....all action taken by NK fuels a dangerous pattern of instability"
"Everyone around this table is under threat. It is a global threat."
We don’t need new clothes. we have to pay our obamacare fines. Food and water is what people cannot do without, and we have both. China imports those.
"this reckless dash forward must be halted, without precondition.."
"When warnings are ignored over and over, a decisive response is necessary"
Liking this guy!!! Go France!
"Otherwise we will have to be firm in our response"
"Weakness, lack of action are certainly not options"
"The end goal is full verifiable denuclearization of NK...our message must be firm and unambiguous"
"...determined and forceful action against undermining the proliferation..."
"When the very foundations of our collective systems are....the council must and will shoulder our responsibilities"
Airing now on main C-SPAN (1) channel. Congress isn’t in session this week due to the holiday, so the main channel can cover any breaking news events like this.
"with this launch Nk clearly intends to threaten...the whole world"
"our response must be strong and clear"
Maybe hemp farming will come back in a big way?
"To increase diplomatic pressure" with allies
This one is lukewarm at best so far.
"UK supports new binding measures" Start work immediately
That was an even more forceful statement from Nikki Haley than Tillerson gave the same room back in April. US will seek new sanctions in the coming days and military action is on the table.
Clearly US is running out of patience with all of the missile tests, threatened nuclear tests, as well as the death of Otto Wambier. All of these these things have happened this year.
"call on NK to stop ballistic missile system"
"Unity of this council in face of NK blatant violations is of utmost importance"
"Sanctions remains inconsistent" (Yes!!)
"There is no military solution on the korean peninsula"
peaceful, dialogue, blah blah
