Whenever there is a problem like this, the authorities make decisions that enable the people who make the violence threats possible and diss the law-abiding, taxpaying citizens, as if they are the issue.

No, the issue is those who made the threats. Law enforcement needs to do their job and protect the citizenry. How they do that is not by penalizing the thousands of people who want to celebrate their country's independence and cancelling the fireworks event.

It is done by having a police presence and a determination to stop and arrest the bad guys.

The easy route they took by canceling the event, just emboldens and plays into the hands of the criminals. Local authorities are failing at their jobs when this happens.

Just more evidence that our country is coming apart at the seams from all the lawlessness the government does not and will not enforce.

Sad day for America when the government cancels a Fourth of July event because of gang threats.

Yeah, now all it takes is a threat to make these pussy politicians back down. Used to be...when America was still America... That the authorities would say “bring it” and then prepare some “special surprises” just in case.
