Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D., Texas) called on President Donald Trump to resign Thursday in the wake of his criticized tweets attacking "Morning Joe" host Mika Brzezinski.
Trump set off a media firestorm Thursday when he tweeted attacks on Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, the engaged MSNBC hosts who were once friendly with Trump but are now two of his staunchest critics.

"There's a sense of hurt feelings," she said. "Mr. President, bleeding from the face? You're again attacking women, professional women? You're calling someone a psycho with all of the individuals fighting for their lives, suffering from mental health needs? You're attacking a woman, a professional woman, about her IQ?"
Jackson Lee also castigated Trump for spending his time attacking "human beings that happen to be Americans and happen to be the media" amidst the debate over his health care proposal.
"I've gone through, as a member of the Judiciary Committee, impeachments. But we can't wait that long. It is time for you to resign," she said. "Enough is enough. I love America. I love these people, and we need a commander in chief."
Tweeting and bashing the media is fine. But focus on the companies not the individuals. Making fun of a woman’s face lift... really?
Beat on MSNBC and that morning show all you want. But going for individuals, especially women, makes him look like a thin skinned bully.
If the average person here can’t see that.... then I feel sorry for them. There should be a level of decorum towards people in general. Coming from the POTUS, it’s embarassing.
I don't know about that. Having watched most of his massive rallies, where they booed the "most dishonest people on the planet"...chanted; "build that wall"..."USA"...and "lock her up"...I'd say we're a pretty good representational cross section.

Always be nice but if someone uses your niceness as a shield to hide behind while attacking you then you are the fool not they. A person who allows niceness or dignity to hamstring themselves is inflexible and ineffective.
Trump’s style has always been to go after those who go after him and to defend his honor and his record. I admire that he never takes the easy route of pretending to be above it.
Your suggestion that he go after the companies is patently ridiculous, the company has plausible deniability and is like a hydra. These news/ commentators are choosing to speak as they do and should speak knowing they have some skin in the game, the knife cuts both ways and there will be consequences.

Second, while I get your sentiment, the tweeting is also tactical. If Trump wants the media to be focused for the next 48 hrs on something he wants them to be distracted with then this is exactly the means to do it. They’re so predictable. He has them working overtime on nothing-burgers. At this point, after all the insane outrage from the left and the media, nobody cares - except for the typical liberal crowd.
It’s all part of living in their head, driving them nuts, and it’s succeeding. Of course the media want to associate it with “being dangerous” and that “journalists” are being put in danger with such ridicule.
