Pa. Senate passes bill allowing teachers to bring guns on campus
h
HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Controversial legislation allowing Pennsylvania public school workers to bring guns onto school grounds narrowly passed the State Senate on Wednesday.
Senate Bill 383 passed by a vote of 28-22, with six Republican Senators voting against it. The legislation would allow school employees who are licensed to carry firearms the ability to store their gun in their classroom or office inside a safe.

NO! Only criminals and terrorists should be armed. Victims should be unarmed for their convenience.
Great news!!!
Schoolchildren should not be sitting ducks or sacrificial lambs.
Bravo to Pennsylvania—the beacon of hope in the east as far as voting conservative when it counts and making a huge difference in charting a hopeful path to MAGA!!!
Governor sign or veto?
In a town 5 miles south of me, a Christian school has armed guards in civilian clothes to blend in with teachers. They are versed in gun safety.
I’d trust the student body at most schools more than I would trust the faculty with a firearm. Even in South LA or Huntington Park.
Pretty sure the record will hold out that there’s been far more accidental shootings by faculty and staff than by the students, even if you don’t even out the two groups.
Plus I missed the part of the constitution where natural rights only exist for adults and not young people.
Ping
A lot of PA still doesn’t recognize state-issued permits.
I’m not sure if this is going to stand. I’m sure the governor hasn’t seen it yet, regardless of reports.
And just 2 years ago, under a republican governor, Harrisburg stated that “.. all counties and cities must honor the state-wide permit” (SIC) and they were responded to with a firm “NYET” from Philly, Pitt and.. believe it or not, Harrisburg.
PA has a lot to go before expecting something as sensible as this. Although the whole “Right to defend will not be -questioned-” part of the state charter is a great statement. Open carry is honored everywhere in the state, but if you close the door to your car and are carrying without a permit it’s yer ass.
IF Tommie "the Commie" Wolf signs the bill I'll eat my straw hat on FB Live.
This Ping List is for all things pertaining to the 2nd Amendment.
FReepmail me if you want to be added to or deleted from the list.
Sen. Chuck McIlhinney, R-Bucks County, said in a written statement, "We ask enough of our teachers. We don't need to turn them into security guards." He questioned the consequences of a firearm being misplaced or stored in a way that prevented them from being stolen or lost.
You can bet the adults at Sandy Hook would vote to have guns if they could have a do-over.
Yes, unfortunately, PA does have a democrat governor.
I should have remembered that fact.
Hopefully, Governor Wolf will do the right thing, but I kind of doubt it.
FASTER Program
This program that started in Ohio is beginning to spread to other states. Colorado has teachers in this training.
PA has it’s issues, but it also has been driving eastern gun grabbers crazy for decades, and I intend to do my part to keep up the tradition.
For those who’ve never seen it, the PA Constitution reads as follows: “The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.”
SHALL NOT BE QUESTIONED.
Our teachers and parents are armed in our schools and colleges in Utah, if they have a carry permit.
Veto, without a doubt.
Even if he vetoes it, it will show voters where his beliefs lie....and tee it up for the next R Governor. This is a huge gun state after all.
