It was many years ago, but the memory lingers of the first time I was embarrassed to be a journalist. It was a steamy summer afternoon and reporters and photographers were shoe-horned into a small Manhattan apartment for a civic groups announcement.
As we waited, a photographer wearing a press card in his battered fedora picked up a bud vase from a table, pulled out the rose and drank the water in one gulp.
The hostess was horrified and shrieked, What are you doing? He looked at her as if she were nuts and said simply, Its hot in here and Im thirsty.
I laugh now at the outlandishness of the photographers behavior, but at the time I cringed and wondered: Do I really want to be a journalist and end up like that?
America should be so lucky now. Bad manners are the least of it.
In the sixth month of Donald Trumps presidency, we are witnessing an unprecedented meltdown of much of the media. Standards have been tossed overboard in a frenzy to bring down the president.
Trump, like all presidents, deserves coverage that is skeptical and tough, but also fair. Thats not what hes getting.
What started as bias against him has become a cancer that is consuming the best and brightest. In rough biblical justice, media attempts to destroy the president are boomeranging and leaving their reputations in tatters.....

Finally, there is some information of why CNN won’t let the Russia thing go.

Probably the most important video you’ll watch for a long time to come.
Well, I guess when it comes to the press, there really is “Corbomite” and Trump possess it.
While liberals were busy doing smear campaigns to take down OReilly and Hannity, with feckless corporations dropping support... wtf.
O/T, but a fedora? How old is Michael Goodwin anyway?
I remember seeing old movies from the '50s where reporters wore fedoras.
.... It's important to understand that the Liberal Mind does not have the capability to understand the concepts of "Cause and Effect" and "Repercussions for Your Actions." They are nothing more than pure Entertainment based, Knee Jerk Reactionary and Emotional Life Forms.
All I can say...Hahahaaaaaa.
Six hours versus 47 seconds in six weeks. The upshot of this New Age "journalism" is that nobody in their audience will have a clue what their government is actually doing. So much for the Guardians Of Democracy argument.
Because part of that argument is the responsibility to provide, as well as criticism, some sense of perspective. Here there is no perspective because, well, there is no reporting. Power may tend to corrupt but here it's tended even more to madden, and these folks are drooling, babbling, obsessive mental cases by now and the entire country knows it.
Maybe it was Drudge, he wears a fedora.
Mr. Goodwin has an excellent article in Imprimus about journalistic integrity. Read it here:

Before, we had to gather a body of work from the "jernalist" and parse it for clues as to their "leanings".
Twitter is a GODSEND, and so is LinkedIn.
You can literally "dial in" a "jernalist" inside of ten minutes now.
I used to spend at least an hour or two on a decent workup, maybe more to be sure.
Twitter protects the blue-check journalist Brigade, as they're called.
This encourages them to let it all hang out for their peers.
It blows my mind, what they're sharing online about their views.
They didn’t make him and they cannot destroy him.
Obama is a different story, they could take him out on a moments notice.
Fedoras: in “My Gal Friday” Rosalind Russell was a darn good reporter without a fedora; and all that Clark Gable needed in “It Happened One Night” was a white undershirt.
Journalism has died and it’s past time for burial. It is apparent to all that it is no longer taught anywhere in the nation.
I’ve been very angry a few times and made some poor choices about what I punch (always an inanimate object). But sometimes the object is immovable and ... well ... I hurt myself pretty bad.
This is fun watching the media break their nuckles beating a brick wall (pun intended).
Somewhere in the dstance a dog was barfing.
The whole fake Russia scandal was a hail mary pass by the Left.
And they were so confident they could get away with it.
CNN has in effect become a news ‘TV reality show’.
Yay team!
Thanks.
