The San Francisco Mime Troupe, a self-described socialist theater group, received the funding in the first round of grants awarded under the Trump administration.

They received the money because a mime is a terrible thing to waste.

They saw the big success in casting a black rapper as Thomas Jefferson in “Hamilton” so expect more of this history revision.

(To use just one example because who in the left’s intended audience would know the difference anyway.)

President Donald Trump has proposed cutting the NEA, along with the National Endowment for the Humanities, entirely. However, both agencies received a $2 million increase from Congress in the budget agreement passed earlier this year.

These arts endowments are a huge waste of taxpayer money and appeal only to the navel gazing crowd. The Walker Arts Center in Minneapolis recently commissioned a sculpture that was a recreation of the gallows used in the 1862 mass hanging of Lakota Indians convicted in the massacre of hundreds of white settlers in Minnesota and Iowa. Of course this sculpture opened old wounds with the local Indians and was idiotic to have been commissioned knowing the controversy that would be created. After protests it was dismantled and destroyed. Who knows how much taxpayer money was wasted on that project.
