As many of you know, this is a major issue for native speakers of Chinese. According to family and friends, Chinese do not have gender-specific pronouns in their native language and therefore often use incorrect gender-specific pronouns in their English speech.

There is an excellent film made by the Brit duo Powell and Pressberger called A Matter of Life and Death. It is a love story Fantasy with David Niven, Kim Hunter, Roger Liivesey and Raymond Massey. I reference it because a wonderful five minute scene involves Massey’s character, the spirit of a son of Liberty, explaining to a celestial court how American Liberty is different from all other forms. The scene clearly shows why we are, or at least used to be different.

This is not satire. It is fact. Canada is officially bilingual, so you need to know the “right” pronouns in French too.
Don’t laugh. It’s in the USA too, in colleges and some cities.

An easy solution is not to refer to mentally-ill perverts at all. Shun them and pretend they do not exist (really hard to do because they won’t stop yapping about their genitals, lack thereof, or whatever details between their legs they insist on sharing with normal people).
