The State Department has opened a formal inquiry into whether former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her aides mishandled classified information while she was the nation’s top diplomat, Fox News has learned. Despite being under investigation, Clinton and her staffers still have security clearances to access sensitive government information.
The department’s investigation aims to determine whether Clinton and her closest aides violated government protocols by using her private server to receive, hold and transmit classified and top-secret government documents. The department declined to say when its inquiry began, but it follows the conclusion of the FBI’s probe into the matter, which did not result in any actions being taken against Clinton or any of her aides.
Depending on the outcome of the current State Department inquiry, Clinton and her aides could have their access to sensitive government documents terminated.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, confirmed the department’s formal inquiry.
Meanwhile, Grassley’s committee launched its own inquiry into Clinton’s handling of emails, an inquiry that began in March. Grassley cited among his concerns the July 5 statement of former FBI Director James Comey that the agency found Clinton and her staff members were “extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.” Grassley also contended there is “evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information...”
During the FBI’s investigation of Clinton’s use of top-secret and classified information on her private server, Comey said there were seven email chains on Clinton’s computer that were classified at the “Top Secret/Special Access Program level.” Another 2,000 emails on her private server were found to have contained information deemed classified now, though not marked classified when sent. In addition, the server also contained 22 top-secret emails deemed too damaging to national security to be released.

"The State Department also indicated that Clinton may still access materials that were originated, reviewed, signed or received by her during her tenure at the department, which includes classified information. The State Department had previously informed the Judiciary Committee that seven of Clinton’s former aides were designated as “research assistants,” which allows them to take their State Department-issued clearance with them after their official service at the department concludes, and to retain access to specified information originated by Clinton during her tenure as secretary."

We have a breakdown at societal level which will prevent her from ever being prosecuted.
So many people are moral relativists. The 60s generation pushed that hard. Now, we have 60-70 year old politicians who can’t tell the truth from a lie, and NOTHING is ever “wrong”.
This sickness pervades almost our entire society.
During Bill's tenure as prez, the agent whose job it was to process people through the clearances complained that they were not responding to his requests for interviews.
The Clinton staff still did their work which included going through sensitive information.
And, when Hillary kept getting calls from the same agents, she joked at how she was keeping them at bay saying that Huma was busy or out of the office, so she didn't have to go for any interviews. Did she end up ever getting a clearance?
Most of these people may be working WITHOUT a security clearance.
That would pretty much make up a smack dab good definition of lawless.
They never did play by the rules.
So she can get her briefings every morning and pretend she is President of the United States.
What about the six billion dollars she lost on her watch?

Wray is still at work for Christie in NJ. No hearings have been scheduled. It’s not clear that the Administration has officially nominated Wray beyond making the announcement.
So former office holders keep their “security clearences?” No wonder it feels as tho we are skrewed...explains a lot. Hey, LS...you know anything about this?

How long does a clearance remain in effect?
Generally as long as cleared individuals remain employed by a cleared contractor or government agency and are reasonably expected to require access to classi ed information, their personnel security clearance will remain in effect, provided they comply with Periodic Reinvestigation requirements.
When is a clearance terminated?
A clearance is terminated when a person permanently leaves a position for which the clearance was granted. Cleared individuals who no longer require access to classi ed information, but who remain continuously employed by the same cleared contractor (or government agency) and do not anticipate future access can have their clearances administratively downgraded or withdrawn until such time that they require access again, provided their security clearance investigation has not expired. Under such circumstances the clearance can be administratively restored.
Why the bleepin’ heck does she still have security clearance?!?
Well, for one thing, the Clintons wouldn't have anything to sell to our enemies if they lost their clearances.
