Russia Probe: Whether or not special prosecutor Robert Mueller is even investigating President Trump for obstruction of justice is far from clear. What's becoming increasingly clear, however, is that if Mueller does launch such a probe, he shouldn't be the one to run it.
A few days after the "bombshell" Washington Post story claimed that Mueller was looking into whether Trump tried to thwart the FBI's Russia-election-meddling investigation, ABC News reported that there isn't such an investigation.
"My sources are telling me he's begun some preliminary planning. Plans to talk to some people in the administration," said ABC News correspondent Pierre Thomas on Sunday. "But he's not yet made that momentous decision to go for a full-scale investigation."
This backs up what we noted in this space on Thursday, that just because Mueller is talking to administration officials who might be involved in a possible investigation doesn't mean there is one.
But while Mueller mulls over that decision, more and more voices are being raised calling for him to step aside due to a serious conflict of interest that probe would represent. That conflict involves Mueller's long-standing friendship with former FBI head James Comey.

My question exactly.....what are they even investigating? The “Russian Collusion” business is old news & I think most people knew long ago that there was nothing there. Seems like this is just a deal to keep somebody in an unneeded job.
Mueller is a flawed, demonstrably compromised retread who is incapable of objectivity. PERIOD
The FBI needs to put out a statement that the 5 leakers are being prosecuted aggressively and jail terms are being negotiated, but all I hear is ::::crickets:::: on the leaker side of the equation.
Why is it that Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz and Donna Brassiere are not being prosecuted for obstruction of justice for blocking the FBI from inspecting the DNC computer system for evidence of Russian tampering?
Why is it that Russian influence is only targeted at the winner, not the loser(s) Bernie and HillDog? Since the Russian canard was invented by the Dems, are they looking at evidence that is was just that - a made-up story as revenge for a lost election?
The above are rhetorical questions since the so-called investigation is a political hit job, not an objective investigation.
Unlike real semen on a real dress, we have imaginary urine on a dry Russian bed. But anti-Trumpers like McCain fell for the story.
Special Counsel Interviewer: When did you first read the false dossier regarding Russian prostitutes you supposedly hired to urinate on a bed previously used by Barry and Michelle Obama?
Trump: To the best of my recollection, January 15.
Special Counsel Interviewer: Mister Trump, here is a record of a courier dropping off the dossier on January 14, you are obviously lying.
Headlines: Trump lies to special investigators, charged with felony.
It was never in the playbook to run a fair investigation. There is no investigation because there is nothing to investigate. The is, however, a move to oust Trump the Outsider.
Post 10-
The game plan appears to focus on the associates and consultants used by President Trump.
The goal is to isolate the president.
Shame on Rosenstein, Mueller, Comey, and the rest of the traitorous crew.
That should be a decal on every business window.
Trump is being investigated?
Who knew!
Yes. And the guy who recommended that Comey be fired - and turned around and named a special counsel to investigate action taken on his own recommendation - should be disbarred on that ground alone. But to then nominate Comeys BFF as the special counsel . . .
Disbar him. Disbar him, and fire him for lack of qualification as a lawyer to do his job.
