Broadway legend Patti LuPone says if President Donald Trump came to see her new musical, War Paint, she wouldn’t perform for the “motherf***er.” While on the Tony Awards red carpet Sunday, LuPone was asked by Variety reporter Gordon Cox: “Why should President Trump come see your show?
“Well, I hope he doesn’t, because I won’t perform if he does,” LuPone responded.
“Why? “Tell me why,” Cox pressed.
“Because I hate the motherf**cker, how’s that?” LuPone answered defiantly.
LuPone, however wasn’t the only nominee to take a swipe at the President.
“Maybe it would give him a little bit of a soul? It’s hard not to feel things when you’re watching our performance,” Deneé Benton, star of the Dave Malloy musical Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, told Variety.

I think it is so weird how much hate they have for our President. Because he wants to limit the number of refugees entering the country? Because he wants to deport those here illegally? Because he wants to cut taxes? Because he wants to get rid of Obamacare? I doubt it is for those reasons. I didn’t have such outright hatred for Obama and his policies. I didn’t like him but I would not have referred to him with such foul language in public. These people really have issues. Their hatred for President Trump is just a symptom.
Her new show, War Paint, is not just over rated. Patti is not an Indian. Why is she agreeing to be in a show called War Paint. It’s cultural appropriation.
(Actually it’s not about Indian war paint. It’s about women’s cosmetics. But if the media can distort and make baseless accusations - I can too! LOL)

We used to drive in to the theatre almost every month. Then we had the LGBAlphabet promoting critics who savaged every wholesome or uplifting musical: Civil War, Scarlet Pimpernel, Jane Eyre and any number of others while promoting to the sky all matter of convoluted, depressing, depraved, banal and revisionist garbage.
After all who doesn’t want to see a musical about a dead child, cheating spouses, people who applaud amorality, where you can learn what the elite want you to know & feel?
My feeling is they can keep it and their Tony awards and they can circle the wagons and tell themselves that they are the most talented, topical, glamorous, influential, idolized people in the world while their bases dwindle and the world turns down their lights.
Who? Some ‘legend’...more hyperbole.

People like her and Kathy Griffin think they are so daring and revolutionary but they are just tiresome bovines in the middle of the herd.
I bet if you asked her to enumerate specific things he has done to engender such hate all you would hear is crickets.
That would be a big mistake. In this case, ignoring LuPone would be the way to go. Right now, no one is talking about “War Paint”. The last thing President Trump should do is give this show free publicity. (And this is coming form some who has never said, “I wish President Trump would stop tweeting.”)
Wouldn’t it be better to work on not hitting yourself with the hammer in the first place?
When it comes time for the administration to address the IRS and tax situation, a hard look could be taken at the preferential treatment given to Broadway and Hollywood producers. Tighten some things up and get some more panties in a twist.
Tump should buy a ticket for every performance she ever intents to perform in. That should keep her from ever appearing on stage. Let’s see who runs out of money first.
