The Trump administration is formally revoking an Obama-era program intended to protect immigrant parents of U.S. citizens and legal residents from deportation. The Deferred Action for Parents of Americans program was announced by the Obama administration in 2014 but was blocked by a federal judge in Texas after 26 states challenged the programs legality in federal court. Kelly formally revoked the policy memo that created the program, which mirrored an earlier effort to protect young immigrants in the country illegally from deportation on June 15.

Homeland Security John Kelly formally revoked a policy memo that created the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans program. The revocation came on the fifth anniversary of another effort that has protected hundreds of thousands of young immigrants from deportation.
The program to protect parents was announced by President Barack Obama in November 2014 but was never fully launched. It was intended to keep the immigrant parents safe from deportation and provide them with a renewable work permit good for two years, but it was blocked by a federal judge in Texas after 26 states filed suit against the federal government and challenged the efforts legality. Republicans decried the effort at backdoor amnesty and argued that Obama overstepped his authority by protecting a specific class of immigrants living in the United States illegally.

Yeah, but at this time, the kids born here are American citizens. Upon reaching the age of majority, they’ll probably be let back in. We could change the anchor baby law, but because of ex post facto, they’ll probably remain US citizens.
Except it’s not a law. It was conjured up out of thin air by the courts. The courts can’t make anyone a citizen. Congress was given sole power of naturalization by the Constitution.
Children born to foreign nationals whether here legally or illegally are NOT U.S. citizens. No matter what the courts say.
Nothing to ex post facto...just deport their asses.
I wish everyone would stop using the terms “immigrant parents,” or “undocumented.” These people are ILLEGAL, and thus criminals.
Good.
What’s the status of the wall?

You are absolutely correct. Under the original and plain interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendement, the children of foreign nationals born on U.S. soil are not citizens and never have been. This should be a primary focus of the fight against the criminal invaders flooding into our country. There is no birth Right citizenship for the children of foreign nationals!

Good.
Globalist elites like Soros (and company) wanting open borders; third world immigration; creating a more culturally divided and more clueless society; intolerance of an empowered and armed populace; is all at the real core of why they hate Trump. All the other stuff is BS.
More unneeded immigration is fundamental to leftist grab for more political power and more riches for their Commie leaders.
On a tourist resort island in FL. my sister knows a Brit couple who invested in a very successful art-cafe business and also construction.Have resided in FL for over a decade. They had hired an immigration attorney paid him 4K and found out that because of the income reported on their taxes was either too low or high (not clear) somehow they could be at risk of being deported. The woman has an eighty year old mother in the UK that she goes to visit a few times per year. She was told that IF SHE LEAVES the USA she may not be able to return. All her property new 500K home, businesses, etc...would be lost.

The ComPost editor slipped up and let the word "illegally" into the article.
Call me dim-witted, but I want to rephrase your comment so that I understand it. Please, no offense, but let me know if I'm totally off the mark.
if people break domestic law, we shouldn't (won't?)refrain avoid from enforcing it even if they have children who were born here.
IOW, and I keep repeating this on various posts: REPEAL THE ANCHOR BABY (14th) AMENDMENT! Turn off the benefits of having a kid here, and a lot, if not most, will think twice about sneaking in.

There needs to be a thread on the 14th Amendment with all the proofs that it should not be used to make "anchor" babies and "anchor" parents.
My first thought was don’t repeal the 14th
But after giving it some thought, it would be a good idea
It was created for a specific time a certain class of citizens and has no effect on anyone alive today
Like many issues, this has been used for decades to create democrat voters and help turn the USA into a 3rd World country.
Has a leftoid “judge” told him he can’t do that yet?
It’s still 58000 a year, half a million over 10 years. We don’t need any of them or their offspring.
Assuming they take applications on weekends and holidays and the average holds for the next three quarters, you’d be right.
I wouldn’t bet on either of those assumptions being correct.

i call them invaders.
