Excellent reply!
I am an outspoken Christian, conservative , Trump supporter. I get flack daily. I wear it as a badge of honor.
Oh and at every opportunity I voice my opinion on Islam, with the resulting rebukes from friends, family and strangers. I spoke up at a politicians townhall and got rebukes from half the room including the elected baffoon.
Show no fear!
Absolutely!
Worked for MSFT for 17 years with people who worked for the Clintons including Mark Penn. I let them know my opinion whenever I had to opportunity. Loved the looks on their faces.
I haven’t been to Starbucks for at least 4 years. My last day was the day they were asking customers to engage other customers in dialog about race. I thought that from then on I would buy my coffee somewhere else.
That was it for me too.
Would make a great episode of Undercover Boss.
I find their names for sizes to be pretentious, and not being a pretentutus kind of guy, I always order small, medium or large. I sometimes get a look from the “barista,” but no other trouble. I know some of the names come from Italian, but this isn’t Italy.
Just think of the confusion I would cause if I ordered a tall or a grande or, heaven forbid, a venti at Dunkin Donuts.
When the barista considers himself above the customer, you know their Environmental Engineering Degree Payments must be killing them.
Be wise about it, but keep up the good work! I can still remember, decades later, things that dedicated conservatives stood up and said at the default liberal gatherings I used to go to when young, like Great Books Series, World Future Society meetings and things like that. Helped turn my in the right direction!
"...ordered Starbucks coffee..."
Helped turn me... not my. Pardon my typo.
If that had been me, I DEFINITELY wouldn’t have just walked out of the store. I would’ve followed Obama’s advice - GET IN THEIR FACE.
Why would the sort of person who would support Trump gon into a Starbucks?
I would probably have thrown the coffee at them.
“The left is intent upon a war that is unwinnable for everyone.”
Exactly, only this time the carpetbaggers will not be ‘Yankees’ but ‘Globalists’, from a multitude of nations.
barisatas definition: A college drop out or a college student with a worthless degree who can not find a job using the degree they achieved.
“Using this as a coaching opportunity”. Translation: Circling our wagons.
If you are going to advertise your politics on your clothing, be prepared to defend it. If you are going to advertise your politics on your car, be prepared to find it vandalized. Any political act you do in public is fair game for your opposition. It’s not that it is wrong, it’s unwise.
That is the world in which we live.
A business takes a big economic risk when it allows its employees to politically challenge a customer. That is, however, the choice of the business owner. Starbucks has clearly sided with the Left. If you have a problem with that, don’t buy their coffee. I don’t.
Reckon how much more coffee Starbucks could have sold had they been apolitical? Does Kayla Hart plan to ever buy coffee at Starbucks again? If she does, her principles need some work.
I have never bought anything from Starbucks........
