'Multiple shootings' reported near congressional baseball game practice field: Report Live
More to follow.
Reports that Steve Scalise (R-LA) shot in hip. Security detail members returned fire and killed suspect. Staffer and security personnel also wounded. Breaking Live
Stuart Varney had judge Napolitano spewing NYC shaded talking points. He has become a Geraldo level “need to change the channel” person.
ball fields aren’t wiretapped?
Don’t I know it.
Nice to see Congressman Flake is okay. This could have been so much worse.
Traditional bipartisan charity event is why they were practicing
I’m not sayibg Scalise should’ve been carrying. What I AM suggesting is that he should’ve asked what if. Actually, everyone there should have done that. If they had, and realized that the answers sucked, better planning might have occurred.
I am not going to get on them for baseball practice at 7 AM. They were wrapping up, so that puts them into the House gym around 7:30; showered and in their office by 8:30.
That is not outrageous.
Better that they play some b-ball then f-ing up the country.
The fence around the playing field was a problem, too, it sounds like. Impeding security and folks taking cover. For God’s sake...
Monday morning my son's house was shot l7 times in an early morning drive-by shooting. The police suspected that it probably happened because he had a US flag flying and drives a retired police car. The Godless anti-Americans growing in numbers and boldness.
It is starting to clearly emerge just how heroic the Capitol police officers were. Rep. Mo Brooks said they took on rifle, with only handguns, at distance of 60-90 feet and were moving forward towards shooter.
Prayers for their recovery.
You ever get your lazy ass up early and move before work?
Lighten up Francis.
The only reason why any of us walked out of this thing, by the grace of God, one of the folks here had a weapon to fire back and give us a moment to find cover. We were inside the backstop and if we didnt have that cover by a brave person who stood up and took a shot themselves, we would not have gotten out of there and every one of us would have been hit every single one of us, said Bishop. He was coming around the fence line and he was looking for all of us who had found cover in different spots. But if we didnt have return fire right there, he would have come up to each one of us and shot us point-blank.
Some of us don’t have that luxury because we get up at 0430 so we can be on the road for an hour in order to make it to our office by 0600 to check out what happened over night so we are prepared for the first meeting of the day which starts at 0630. Then we work until at least 1700, back on the road for an hour to get home so we can enjoy a little family time. This is our schedule, unless we get called in the middle of the night to come in because there is a breakdown in the mill. In that case we just stay at work until our normal quitting time which could see us up for well over 36 hrs. So, JACKASS, maybe he isn’t lazy... maybe he just works in a production environment and doesn’t even realize there is a such thing as a 9-5 job anymore... JACKASS!
Good! Glad Varney is calling out this rampant violence.
I'll get to that. Somebody mentioned that carry and playing ball don't work together. I agree. I do both, but never at the same time. I bike and carry, hike and carry, but not play ball and carry. Not swim and carry either.
As for security for them in general, what is going to happen is the taxpayers will hire security details for Congresspeople. More outward signs of "us vs. them." This went down in suburban DC, which is genrally like most any suburban place in the US. Shootings happen, but they are rare.
And FWIW, the field DID have security. If not fot ehat, the carnage would have probably been substantially greater. You might argue whther the amount of security was appropriate, but it was not an unsecure venue. Neinther was the Manchester bomibing an unsecure venue, etc. No such thing as perfectly reliable/preventive security, not even if freedom is stomped out.
“The fence around the playing field was a problem, too, it sounds like. Impeding security and folks taking cover. For Gods sake...”
Yeah, I can see you could get kinda’ trapped in there, especially if you are unarmed.
Looks like a take out attempt, I don't think it was personalized to the individuals, rather was personalized to party identity.
I'm sure that the left has, by now, started the line that this was a false flag, GOP on GOP with the plan being to blame the DEMs.
Flake saying ‘Tyson foods’ guy shot in chest. (the person who organizes the games?)
