PBS Newshour anchor Judy Woodruff posted to Twitter Monday evening that Chris Ruddy, CEO of Newsmax, told her that President Donald Trump is “”considering perhaps terminating” Robert Mueller as special counsel”.
Former FBI Director Mueller was appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein last month to investigate alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia. Recent reports indicate that Mueller is looking to expand his investigation to include the decision to fire his successor as FBI director, James Comey.
GQ described Mueller’s hiring for the investigation as a “Murderer’s Row of Prosecutors” and “men and women responsible for bringing down Nixon, Enron, and the mafia.”
No crimes have been alleged to have been committed, nor has President Trump been accused of any crimes. Comey testified last week that he had told Trump several times before he was fired that Trump was not under investigation.

If the Republicans in Congress do not push Rosenstein and Sessions to
1. Deal with the Mueller Comey conflict of interest
2. Get to bottom of the contrived way in which the Special Counsel appointment was sought through leaking as Comey’s Revenge
3. Ask how on earth it is ethical for the Special Counsel to continue to investigate the supposed crimes involving Trump people and the Russian government in hacking the election where there clearly is NO BASIS for an investigation.
then we’ll know the fix in from the corrupt Never Trumper Republicans.

Dems should be careful for what they wish. I believe if they take down Trump on this charade, there will be civil war in this country. GOP quislings in Congress may take this lying down (or, likely, be quietly helping to turn the screws), but we won’t!! #MAGA
Apparently, he was coordinating Comey’s testimony. How independent is this “independent counsel”?

Comedy of errors but not even a little bit funny.
AG Sessions was too quick to recuse himself and someone else in the Justice Dept. (who?) was quick to appoint a Special Counsel. And the Special Counsel just happens to also be the special friend of the turncoat FBI Director fired by President Trump.
There never should have been a Special Counsel appointed to begin with.
Who made the decision to do so?
It sounds as if neither President Trump or AG Sessions had any input.
More and more it appears that the movement toward a Special Counsel was totally scripted from the get-go by Trump enemies within the Justice Department who were in cahoots with Comey and others who want to bring Trump down.
Comey leaks his self-serving CYA memo for the explicit stated purpose of generating movement toward appointment of a Special Counsel and VOILA! we get a Special Counsel who just turns out to be a close friend and confidant of Comey’s.
Special prosecutors/Counsels have a history of empire building, mission creep and extended fishing expeditions and it sure sounds as if this one is gearing up to do just that .
The problem now is if Trump fires Mueller he ignites another firestorm of accusations of obstruction and cover-up and the madness accelerates.

The good news is that Trump is getting stuff done while they whine.

why shouldn’t Sessions do it?? Sessions recused himself from investigations involving russian collusion...he should step in and stop any comey/flynn investigations- he did not recuse himself from that...>>. not sure but the recusal is for investigations around the campaign he was on. not really russia.
I have posted earlier about my thinking and making a note at work today. How will Trump take down Mueller. I think he might use the same method he used on Comey. Set him up, let him leak, follow the leak, id the turd leaking, flush the turd. one less turd in the swamp. One at a time. It just might take that. Until they either get it. which they won’t or get flushed which will be a joy to us all. The bigger ones first.
