I’d like to buy a cargo van. Too expensive. It’s nothing but a shell + a motor.
I could use a new pickup, but I’m not seeing the incentives the author is describing. Even at 7 years, the payments on a vehicle going for upwards of $50k are pretty sobering.
Even the used truck market is ridiculous.
Part of this is I need 4wd. It seems the automakers require you to buy a luxury truck to get this option.
Tell me again, exactly why a new pickup truck should cost between $45K - $55K dollars. RIP OFF!!!!
If you own your own business there are tax incentives to pay for much of certain trucks and vans.
A used Chevy express, say 2006, 3/4 ton v8 with racks and shelves for 10k with 200,000 miles is a joke. Waiting too.
Earlier this year, I bought a clean 2012 Ford E-250 with 100,000 miles on the clock for $16,000. The term of the loan is three years at about $400 a month.
I bought it from Century Trucks in Grand Prairie, Texas. They tell me they have customers coming in from all over the country.
Go back to 1980 standards.
Buy a Mercedes Sprinter. Mine will be 11 with 230k miles, paid for for 6 years and will go at least 5 more. It has a turbodiesel
Rather than purchase price, consider cost of ownership and operation on a per mile basis. The Sprinter is cheap.
