Trying Bill "BlowJob" Clinton's "treat terrorism as a law enforcement problem" approach is failing so badly, it can no longer be treated as a mere mistake.
I believe that we have many of these people under surveillance.
We know who the potential troublemakers are.
We should pack them up and send them back to whatever hell hole they come out of.
We should find ways to encourage others to leave.
I don’t think we can force every one to leave, but I’d come up with as many good ways to encourage them to do so, as I could.
I have advocated paying them to leave. It would be well worth the cost to be rid of them.
I also believe we could employ RICO laws to find out what they are up to, and get rid of them.
Every tool we have, we should employ.
We should also keep tabs on their mosques and spiritual leaders.
Someone is directing these folks to take action.
It’s time we started booting those folks out, or putting them in prison.
There are lots of things we could do to reduce the problems we have.
We just don’t do it.
We need to demand they do it.
If we can find out what contacts they have overseas, if they commit an act, then go after that person. At the very least, see if they are a potential influence.
BTW: If I remember correctly, Clinton tried to treat the people at Guantanamo as “criminals”. They talked of moving them to the mainland had conducting trials in our courts.
We discussed this and agreed this could easily be used to game our system, revealing methods and operatives. We disagreed with that.
I’m not against picking up a guy who has a terrorist connection, and moving that person to Guantanamo. But I don’t want that person simply released like our past terrorist in chief.
I do want some sort of review process for someone being taken off our streets and taken to Guantanamo. There should be just cause, but I’d want ti done by a secure process.
I wouldn’t want a jihadi lawyer to be able to get information and pass it along.
These are difficult matters to handle.
