That was my first thought. I don’t think a boy in lederhosen threw that brick.

a symptom, some administrators say, of a larger problem at some city schools. RACISM!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, though, Germantown used to be a nice area and some parts still are (as you get closer to Chestnut Hill). Its kind of sad -- you see historical buildings from the 1700s next to dilapidated row houses.

And nothing there to care about the fighting in the fog that went on around there, because you know, this country sucks from the very beginning, so who cares about those evil racists who surrounded the Chew house: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3557451/posts

A Philadelphia principal suffered serious injuries when he was struck in the face with a brick at dismissal a symptom, some administrators say, of a larger problem at some city schools. It's a symptom of a thug needs to spend 10-20 years behind bars for assault with a deadly weapon. Instead of pretending that "crime" is the problem, deal with criminals one by one. With fewer criminals and no evidence of criminals getting away with their crimes, "crime" will become much less of an issue. Rappers with attitude would seem a lot less cool if those role models spent ages 16-36 behind bars and came out too old to be admired by the young.

I admire the Principal’s willingness to get involved, but there should at least be one Security Guard available who has been trained in conflict resolution when dealing with adolescents or teens. Or an Assistant Principal. Some schools don’t want ‘outsiders’ knowing about what happens on school grounds. Police reports become public knowledge. Perhaps many such incidents would negatively effect that school’s ratings and donations.

My (maternal) English ancestors were part of the founding of Germantown ... there are two streets named for them.
They must be spinning in their graves.

The assailant, who stands about 5 feet, 8 inches and weighs about 160 pounds, was seen running on West Seymour Street A tad large for an eighth grader?
But he repeated the eighth grade a few times; and a few other grades too.

Sounds like someone needs a good talking to...because that's about all the discipline they are allowed to hand out.
