And after this snap of Pope Francis looking miserable while standing beside President Donald Trump at the Vatican began circulating online Wednesday, many people rushed to social media to suggest what some of them might be:

Trump’s differences in opinion with the pontiff over issues such as immigration and climate change are well documented. But it would be unfair to say the pope looked completely forlorn throughout the president’s visit.

Reuters news agency noted how he “smiled faintly” as he greeted Trump, but also pointed out that the pontiff was “not as gregarious as he sometimes is with visiting heads of state.”

like to know more about the picture in the background. Trump seems to be boxed by what looks to be a knight praying while the pop seems to be boxed by a courtier fast asleep.

Trump’s broad grin and the Popes forlorn look tells me Trump booked another win.

I thought the most telling picture of the Pope - a picture that reflects his true 'regard' for other people was of him at his desk with Trump sitting across from him.

Trump's space was a few inches - the "Pope's" space was almost the whole desk. Then to make it more insulting to whoever was across from the Pope - the carpet was set so anyone sitting on the other side of the desk had a good chance of tripping on the carpet or getting his chair caught on it.

Melania frequently has a certain look. I attribute to perhaps Eastern Europe/fashion model serious look. I don’t think she was ever a full blown runway model but its that sort of thing.

The part ‘most telling’ is the carpet... Trump was very careful pulling his chair up to the desk but it’s obvious it was designed to ‘get caught’ often.

I think the Pope’s not as nice as he pretends to be...
