IVANKA TRUMP made the journey from Saudi Arabia to Israel with father US President Donald Trump today and wore an outfit very different to any she’s been pictured in recently.

Ivanka Trump: Was the First Daughter wearing traditional Jewish dress? The 35-year-old was pictured next to husband Jared Kushner as the took part in a welcome ceremony upon her father Donald’s arrival at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv.

Ivanka co-ordinated her outfit with Jared’s, wearing black and navy, but her style wasn’t as fashion-forward as it’s appeared in the past.

She wore a black lace top with long sleeves and a navy sash across the front, along with a long pleated navy skirt.

She accessorised with black sunglasses and a navy-coloured head piece which lay flat to her head.

Men’s proper hats are not real compatible with cars, so baseball caps are about it. Maybe ‘ivy caps’ could make a comeback?

Just found this:

While every president since George H.W. Bush has visited the last standing remnant of the Holy Temple compound, also known as the Kotel, none have gone during their time in office. George H.W. Bush visited in 1998, nearly ten years after he ended his term; successor Bill Clinton did the same in 2013.

Governor George W. Bush visited in 1998 before his term, but on a presidential trip in 2008, he opted out when it was deemed too political of a move. Barack Obama placed a note between the Kotel's ancient stones in 2008 during his presidential campaign but did not return after his election.

2. No wedding rings for Ivanka or Jared?

Don't orthodox women wear their wedding ring on their right index finger?

Just at the wedding ceremony. I’ve seen some very religious women wear it on the right hand, but on the ring finger as the index finger would be impractical.

Pronouncing it as spelled is acceptable —

I looked it up meantime, too, and Oxford agrees that either pronunciation is currently acceptable; "brooch" came into Middle English from French and was based on the French word broche (pronounced BRO-sh), accounting for the long "o" sound in the "broach" version. So the next mystery is where the double "o" came from? LOL!

I was referring to the photo in the post of their arrival at Ben Gurion Airport. For this even Papa Donald has his head appropriately covered.

Speaking of the secular use of hats only, I think the whole issue of no longer wearing hats revolves around the unsightly “hat hair” creases after taking a hat off, combined with the rapid change in hair care customs after the late 50s. Suddenly, when everyone had hand-held hair dryers at home starting in the 60s, most people started washing or at least rinsing their hair every day. I think the electric hot rollers came out in the late 60s also, and the use of round hairbrushes with a hand dryer to create curls or waves.

Prior to that, women from the 20s to the 50s who styled their hair shampooed only once a week and set their style with bobby pins or rollers; and once it was “done”, it was protected with hairnets and not done again until the following weekend, for dates on Saturday or church on Sunday. After the rise of hand-held home hair dryers, men stopped wearing hair oils and women adopted the poofy styles like the beehive in the early 60s, making hats obsolete. People preferred the nice clean hair.

And the rise of throwing off religious conventions came simultaneously in the late 60s, with the majority white protestant women leading the way of rebelling against wearing hats in church any more.

My guess is that it was an English attempt to reflect their idea of the proper French pronunciation.

Hats are hard to wear. They can veer into silly without much effort. Women used to have long hair that they pinned up--both up-dos and hats concealed thinning hair for elderly women.

I do wish these ultra high heels would go out of style--particularly the ones that do not center in the middle of the natural heel. Maybe Melania can walk normally in a pair of these, but most women do not. Steam-punk on stilts. I'd love to see the elegant pump with a curved heel--right at three inches or less.

Yes, I see. The first hat with the flower in front is a costume from Bk’fast at Tiffany’s.

Let’s ask Billy Bush about Seth Rich now that this pathetic weasel is back in town. That Acess Hollywood was a plot by the Bush Crime Family to put Hillary in office. If you haven’t seen the Seth Rich timeline, it’s on FR. AH is mentioned.

She was never completely dressed without the hat. Alas, that time is long passed. Like Scarlett's lovely hat at the picnic in GWTW, this is, too, GWTW.

Now it's known as "vintage".

Just for fun, sharing this site found in surf traveling. You might get a kick out of it :-)

LOL, if it’s a matter of frost or a pink pussy hat - must admit to grabbing the hat. Cannot abide the cold. For years a knitted white cap was worn in winter just to keep the head and ears warm. Yes, even in Texas we do get snow and freezing weather. In summer, one would be foolish to linger in the sun too long with no protection. Sunburn comes easily and so very painful. LOL guess you can tell I’m not much of a ‘beach’ person. The wide brim straws, an answer here. Hats serve a purpose- if they are needed they will be worn. Otherwise, they are only an adornment, piece of jewelry, gloves, or a scarf. The final touch. Time marches on and fashion changes. Not only for women, but men as well. Clark Gable/white undershirts. Brando/leather, men’s ties and pocket squares/handkerchiefs.
