A high school in North Carolina has collected all of the yearbooks that were distributed to students due to some inappropriate comments, including President Trumps (in)famous phrase Build That Wall.
The News & Observer reports the Trump quote made by a Richmond Early College High School senior was slammed on social media by some students and others who called it racist and hurtful to classmates.
Thankfully for the school, only a smattering of the books had been given out before the offensive statements were noticed by Principal Tonya Waddell.
The district did not provide any other examples of what was deemed improper, but noted no students were disciplined.
Comments on both the News & Observer piece and school district Facebook post run the gamut from claiming the schools actions violate the First Amendment, to the school has every right to do as it wishes regarding the yearbook.
Perhaps there was something worse than Build That Wall in the book; if not, it seems the school would be on dubious constitutional grounds. Immigration is legitimate political topic, and construction of a border wall is a legitimate, albeit partial, solution to the illegal immigration problem.

Government schools are Marxist bastions in every state.
Who gets to pay for the destruction of these, and the ordering of the new, corrected ones?
Good fences make good neighbors.

That is my mantra when I place the divider on the belt at the grocery checkout counter.
They might just mark out the offense, or cut out and paste in a new page.
After we graduated, we got an addendum set of pages covering the graduation event. Yearbooks had been issued in early spring.
Poor North Carolina. It used to be a nice conservative state - except for the area around the Research Triangle.
Now the state is overrun with disgruntled northerners trying to escape the crime and high taxes brought on by the liberal politicians they voted for.
Where will they go once they turn the Carolinas into the liberal mess they’re trying to escape?
The President of the United States comments censored by some stupid liberal totalitarian teachers

That’s pretty good. Trump’s quotes already censored as evil.
It took over 60 years for Churchill’s mooslime comments to be censored.
They would probably hold your diploma hostage.
LOL I was just telling my husband the other day that I see more Farenheit 451 than 1984, in our country lately. Of course, more are familiar with 1984.
How many are in a, ‘smattering?’ ;)
Sue this “skool” into the stone age for denying Constitutional rights. They gotta a lot of nerve.
who called it racist and hurtful to classmates.

It is not racist and is only hurtful to illegal aliens.
“From my cold dead hands.”
Fahrenheit 451
High time that these little Baldur von Shirach’s were prosecuted for civil rights violations.
Yep, freedom of speech is under attack more than at any time in recent American history and again, by the radical, violent left.
THAT would have been a great quote to use instead. Let the school censor Robert Frost.
I remember a story last year that one picture in a yearbook included one guy on a football team picture with his penis exposed. WHen it was found, they charged him with a sex crime because the yearbook was distributed to minors.
