How is the in-home service for your mom working out so far? Does it give you some peace while you’re having to work?

For just this one week we have 24 hour care...7a to 7p, and 7p to 7a.

Next week will just be the day shift. No help from any insurance....who will pay for 4 hours, but only for a registered nurse. I don’t need a registered nurse, just someone to be here to keep her from falling. The night lady, who I’m hoping to keep during the days, has been at it for years. The day lady is at her first gig. My Mom is telling her how to do things. *sigh* But she has someone to talk to all day and evening....and it’s not me. And last night she was awake more than asleep.

At least this week I don’t need to keep getting up. But care is VERY expensive and 24 hour is beyond our means. So I’m enjoying this week. I did order both a bed rail that folds down and a button for her room to push and it sounds in my room. That way I can sleep between alarms and not stay listening all night.
