New York AG: I'll sue if Senate passes ObamaCare repeal
The Hill ^ | May 5, 2017 | John Bowden

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman (D) warned Congress on Friday that he would file a lawsuit to protect abortion rights if the Senate passes the House GOP's healthcare bill.

In an interview with CNN's Erin Burnett, Schneiderman attacked the bill, called the American Health Care Act, as "bad public policy."

"It doesn't protect people with pre-existing conditions, it will cost millions of people healthcare," he said.

Schneiderman said that the bill in its current form is unconstitutional due to attacks on "prohibited state funding."

"In a tricky way, [it] tries to wipe out Planned Parenthood," he said. "It's an effort to kill off Planned Parenthood, which would impose an undue burden on women's Constitutionally-protected rights."

We’ve already seen the harbingers of this. Liberal lower court pseudo judges are going to try and stop EVERYTHING trump does.

This is why I have been saying that the GOP should go big with the new healthcare law. No matter what they pass on any subject some liberal judge somewhere will overrule the congress. What is there to lose?

The courts may overrule an executive order, though they may be outside their right, in so doing, but when a LAW is passed by CONGRESS, they may interpret it, but they have no (Constitutional) right to overrule it. For example, the Courts cannot declare that murder is no longer illegal. (Though, of course, they can convolute it, such as they did with Roe v. Wade.)

The way I see it this could be a blessing in disguise. If the law is passed and actually repeals obammacare and this new law is declared unconstitutional then we as a nation will be better off. The government should not be in the insurance business period. Let congress pass a law allowing insurance companies to operate in all States and let the market dictate the prices. Until Obamma, the government wasn’t in the insurance business (except Medicare/Medicaid, another debacle) If we get out again how bad will it be really? It hs been less than 8 years of our history.

Congress is sovereign and can pass an anti-abortion law that abolishes a previous law passed by congress. I wouldn’t expect a 50 IQ rat to understand that.
