Throwing around insults about a leader and not getting in trouble over it is what separates us from places like Iran and North Korea and Turkey and China..and..

Yeah they overreacted easily!!
I hear what you’re saying and you’re right.
If it justice was dispensed evenly. But it’s not.
FCC and everyone else would destroy someone who made these comments about the kenyan.
Ah, what do I know. Just frustrates me.

Throwing around insults about leaders without resorting to blatant references to sexual practices is not an unreasonable request when it comes to over-the-air broadcasts. This is not HBO - it's CBS, broadcasting over public airwaves, and it's very hard for me to believe that Colbert's remarks don't qualify as obscenity.
Aside from the issue of broadcast standards, there's also the fact that no one guarantees anyone freedom from consequences for the things they say. The Left would be up in arms if a conservative comedian had said such things about Obama or Hillary - boycotts would be underway to force the comedian off the air. Conservatives can either fight back the same way, or surrender.

We need to make an example out of a heckuva lot more than Colbert.
Considering that the Left has pretty much demanded “free speech for me but not for thee,” we need to give them a taste of their own medicine.
It’s the only way to rein in crude bullies.

As long as Stephen Colbert stays off my yard and is not in my face he can live in the USA domain.
Otherwise, his worthless a$$ is mine and he won’t get to spend
a dime of his unearned riches if he endangers me or my kind.

What I can’t understand is why the audience didn’t boo. They clapped and cheered in the excerpts I heard.

Colbert's audience is highly politicized and will clap like trained seals at anything hostile to non-liberals while congratulating themselves on how tolerant and woke they are.

First of all, who is Stephen Colbert and why should we care what he says? /sarc
Secondly, let him exercise his right to Free Speech and prove that he is an idiot. We win all around.
Then we should ask him to come out for “Free Speech” on campuses. Let’s see if he ties is balls in a knot over that request.
I can watch Johnny Carson reruns whenever I want good comedy. Colbert is a third rate amateur and that’s all he’ll ever be.
