The author of the best-selling book that revealed alleged pay-for-play schemes during Hillary Clintons time as secretary of state is sounding the alarm about Jared Kushners ties to liberal bankroller George Soros and Goldman Sachs.
Clinton Cash author and Breitbart News editor Peter Schweizer said in a radio interview that Kushners ties to Soros who funds a network of left-wing activists as well as his billion-dollar loans, both of which he failed to include in his financial disclosure forms, present a massive, massive problem for the White House. Schweizer called for an independent audit of Kushners finances, which he said likely contain similar bombshells.
Schweizer expressed similar concern over the opacity of Kushners political views which the adviser has kept close to his vest and said the president should let the public lift the hood up from the car and see what kind of engine is underneath there to see really what his views are, have him do some public interviews about what his positions are.
He is now the sort of go-between, between President Trump and people like Goldman Sachs and/or George Soros that might have business in the White House, Schweizer said. These are people he does business with, and has commingled assets with. The American people need to know, and for a campaign that I think draining the swamp and transparency were such important issues, this circumstance I think demands that kind of response.
There needs to be somebody independently that goes in and looks through his assets to make sure that there arent other big conflicts that are undisclosed lurking, he said. The problem is, you really cant have confidence in whoever prepared these forms for Jared Kushner because youve got these gaps. I would be surprised if there arent more of these kinds of mistakes or omissions, because it just seems to me this one is so big and so glaring, its hard for me to believe that it was just an oversight, and its hard for me to believe that this is the only one that exists.
Kushner, who is married to President Trumps daughter, Ivanka, failed to disclose his business ties to George Soros, Goldman Sachs, Peter Thiel and other billionaires through his real estate start-up company, Cadre. Soros also reportedly opened up a $250 million line of credit to Kushner to help get Cadre off the ground.
While he may be business partners with Kushner, Soros is intensely opposed to his father-in-law, President Trump. Soros spent millions of dollars trying to defeat Trump in last years election, and recently huddled with left-wing activists to plot their opposition to Trump.
Kushner has seen his White House influence steadily increase since winning an internal war over Steve Bannon, the populist former CEO of Breitbart News. Although the feud has since ended, its well-known that Bannon doesnt trust Kushner.
As one official close to Bannon previously told The Daily Beast, Steve thinks Jared is worse than a Democrat, basically.
That thought crossed my mind about Trump. So sorry.
“why do you hold Jared to a higher standard than the likes of lying Ryan “
True. Emails showed that Ryan also receives money from Soros. The only difference between them is the dollar amount. It’s like that old joke that ends with, “We’ve already established what you are. We’re just negotiating the price.”
You ignore that the House is gearing up for their mid-term elections, and thus they allow their super-packed donors to write legislation for a price. As well as a third of the Senate... These traitors go to their pimp lobbyists and strap their campaign expenses upon the backs of ‘we the people’.
Congress is the ‘legislative’ branch, of which President Trump can sign their ‘legislation’ or veto it... It is Congress who continues to betray US, both houses.
The obscene budget deal is a far greater reward to Soros electioneering than anything Trump has done via advisement from his son-in-law.
You NeverTrumpers are a bunch of gas bags.
That is correct. What we are finding are the 'NeverTrumpers' are selective in their faux conservatism... As Speaker of the House, it would seem that lying Ryan should be held to account for the legislation that rips US off year in and year out. Lying Ryan is symbolically that 'SNAKE', and I think he should be returned to private life, and feed on rodents.
Or there’s just not enough conservatives.
He’s brilliant? Really?
And you base that on what? His having made perhaps the most boneheaded major real estate investment move in NYC in decades—as his signature action with his family’s multibillion-dollar real estate business?
And you apparently don’t even know what you are talking about re: Cadre. Soros reportedly gave the startup a $250M line of credit—a highly unusual move in the VC world. Usually that kind of cash in a startup would give you a majority ownership, not just a credit claim.
I didn’t care for either Kushner or his wife being involved in the White House from the get-go. This makes it far worse.
The “never-Trumpers” on this forum will be reveling at this story! Revel away!
Thank you for your comment, Ted!
Schweitzer hasn’t been reporting all of this Kushner stuff. And in his position as a professional political watchdog it makes sense that he’d be asked about this. I agree that the article should have mentioned the Schweitzer/Breitbart/Bannon connection, but the Kushner dealings stinking to high heaven isn’t really controversial at this point.
Then why the hell is he there, I don’t care how smart he is?
It’s a betrayal of sorts.
And if it was a dem we would call it the worst type of nepotism. Access to cabinet meeting? Why, exactly?
Trump never said his daughter and SOL were going to play big parts in his administration during the elections,
I think Soros took out a insurance policy on Hillary in the form of jarred... we definitely need to know more. the most troubling part for me is that the left did not uncover this during the election.
You start and end your reply with what you must think are effective personal attacks against me. Times are changing here on Free Republic, the cult of personality is disintegrating so your ad hominem attacks no longer carry serious sting and will probably boomerang. Nevertheless, I have a collateral point which I make for the benefit of the reader which I have stated once before.
You call me a "Never-Trumper" which I have consistently denied for the simple reason that it is not true. As I have stated many times I have supported Trump after his nomination and even after his election. I suppose I confused party loyalty, even in its bastardized condition, with support of Trump's candidacy after his nomination. Today, I criticize Trump when warranted and praise him when deserved.
Now I find myself in the position of regretting my honesty in denying the honorific which you insist on bestowing on me. The time is rapidly approaching when there will be many on these threads who will lay claim to having been a Never-Trumper but I unfortunately will have been clear on the record that, alas, I do not qualify for the honor.
I will have to content myself when the reckoning is made that Donald Trump will have proved my predictions concerning the bona fides of his conservatism to have been all too terribly vindicated.
As to the rest of your reply, it betrays a serious ignorance of how legislation is actually written.
“the most troubling part for me is that the left did not uncover this during the election.”
Since Soros IS “the left” — on steroids, if they had wanted it exposed they would have. Better to keep it quiet during the election, then insert Jared as a mole if Trump won. Which he did, and which they did.
Agreed—and they’re the ones who brought the Goldman Sachs people in as well.
Well, his big, stupid RE deal was to buy the 666 Fifth Avenue building...
That and the fact that one was a purely business deal about making money that had nothing to do with politics, and the other has nothing to do with making money and everything to do with buying political influence. Or Soros somehow knew that Trump would run and win, and Jared would be a White House advisor, and had a company he is a principal in extend him a line of credit so he could somehow influence the future Trump administration. If that's true Soros is smarter than I gave him credit for.
I really like the job Trump is doing but we do have a right to know what his logic is behind giving jared and ivanka rooms at the WH and cabinet meeting access.
