Yep, they FINALLY arrived this morning. She went into labor last night and took forever to have them. First one was born at 4:45 a.m. and the last a few minutes after 10 a.m. Long breaks between each delivery.
You bet I was with her. I wanted to be sure everything went smoothly as possible. She had plump babies and I’m amazed at how well she’s bounced back already after the ordeal. She’s more chipper than I am tonight. LOL! My tail feathers are dragging from lack of sleep.
Howdy do, Conor! *Hugz*
Had a good week so far? Hope so!
I did see a Cardinal today, Mrs. was around, too. Weather has taken a turn to cold again. Sigh.
There are other breeds, of course. Lately we have horrible black birds that drive all the others away.
HUGS
Howdy, Feathers! How’s it goin’ up there? Things springing to life and robins around again?
Thank you Kathy! Lots of work ahead before rest.
Hi Du, yup we have Robins and some other birds. As I mentioned to Kathy - those nasty big black birds drive the pretty birds away.
Nice baby kittens, poor mom looks pooped out.
HUGS
Glad the robins made it back after disappearing for a while. Poor birds just arrived too early.
Starlings are mean to the other birds, chasing them off all the time. They do it here, too, as well as mockingbirds and blue jays. I don’t like those birds.
Yes, poor lil Pixie was one pooped kitty after delivering those big babies but she’s much perkier this evening. She’s a trooper! I’m still whipped from staying up with her and see an early bed time tonight. I’ll be asleep long before the sun rises this time. LOL
Starlings are not native to the Western Hemisphere. They were brought in from Europe in the 19th Century, and we haven’t been able to get rid of them.

And ooooooooh, would it ever be nice to be able to get rid of them! Pains in the butt!
So are blue jays and mockingbirds but those don’t flock in the same numbers as starlings. Our yard is black every morning with starlings.
Glad to hear things are going well.
Going well here. Got some rain moving in that will be good for the corn in the fields. It’s growing fast.
Cis is visiting for a few days, so i will be a bit scarce.
Happy Spring, Everybody!
((((HUGS))))
Howdy, LUV!
We’re glad it was 4, not 5, too! And after the ordeal Pixie went through to get those 4 out, I’d say she was glad that was it! LOL
I didn’t notice until I got the pic into the computer that they were laid out, left to right, in the order they were born. Raimis, the male, was the last one out. I haven’t come up with a name for the black-and-white female yet but the two in the middle are Willow and Hollian. I’ll come up with something for the other soon enough.
How was your day? Did you get out and about since the weather was cooler?
Good evening, Mac...*HUGS*...how is planting coming along? All your new purchases in the ground and growing?
I’m trying to get over “almost” pneumonia...only one lung with stuff in it. I have antibiotics which seem to be working, but the coughing WILL NOT STOP even with the meds!!
