Deputies were called to Highlands High School early Wednesday morning after two women were attacked at the schools soccer field.
Neven Glen Butler, 18, of North Highlands, was arrested by Sacramento County homicide detectives on suspicion of murder and sexual assault in the killing on Wednesday morning of Fusako Petrus.
Butler was already in custody for allegedly assaulting another elderly woman the same day in Arden Arcade.
Petrus died early in the morning Wednesday as she walked on the track in North Highlands, as she had regularly done for decades. Both she and a 61-year-old friend were sexually assaulted and beaten by a stranger, authorities said.
After killing Petrus, the attacker fled, jumping over a fence on the perimeter of Highlands High School. A search failed to turn up any sign of him.
In the afternoon, about 12 miles away, deputies believe that Butler committed another attack . Deputies were called to the 2200 block of Northrup Avenue where investigators believe he allegedly assaulted a 92-year-old woman.

Forget to feed him or give him water for a few weeks. Administrative error. Mistakes were made.
Let the punishment fit the crime, medieval as that might be. Especially in the cases of animal cruelty. That would have a wonderfully clarifying effect on the minds of potential perps.
