Ann Coulter: Not Building the Wall Is a Government Shutdown
Breitbart ^ | April 26, 2017 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 04/26/2017 9:20:54 PM PDT by EliRoom8

No one voted for Trump because of the “Access Hollywood” tape. They voted for him because of his issues; most prominently, his promise to build “a big beautiful wall.” And who’s going to pay for it? MEXICO!

You can’t say that at every campaign rally for 18 months and then not build a wall.

Do not imagine that a Trump double-cross on the wall will not destroy the Republican Party. Oh, we’ll get them back. No, you won’t. Trump wasn’t a distraction: He was the last chance to save the GOP.

Millions of Americans who hadn’t voted in 30 years came out in 2016 to vote for Trump. If he betrays them, they’ll say, “You see? I told you. They’re all crooks.”

No excuses will work. No fiery denunciations of the courts, the Democrats or La Raza will win them back, even if Trump comes up with demeaning Twitter names for them.

It would be an epic betrayal — worse than Bush betraying voters on “no new taxes.” Worse than LBJ escalating the Vietnam War. There would be nothing like it in the history of politics.

He’s the commander in chief! He said he’d build a wall. If he can’t do that, Trump is finished, the Republican Party is finished, and the country is finished.

Re: “Nevertrumper or paid Soros shill?”

I actually voted for Trump

But I have never believed a word the man said.

In 2015, in at least a half dozen posts and comments on Free Republic, I predicted exactly what Trump would do about immigration:

He would boisterously crack down on criminal immigrants for his first few months in office.

Then, he would do absolutely nothing of consequence about the Wall, about DACA, about e-Verify, about H-1B, or about the 1.25 million new LEGAL immigrants who arrive in the USA each year.

If Trump gets reelected, he will declare Amnesty in 2021.

And you, Red Wulf, will still be here four years from now, hectoring Free Republic readers, claiming that Amnesty is not really Amnesty, and Trump plays political chess in 27 dimensions, and none of us are smart enough to understand what he is really doing.

Tired of winning yet?

Because it’s Congress at fault, not Trump?

What’s he supposed to do, put a gun to all their heads?

No...All Trump has to do is veto Friday’s CR that does not contain money for the wall. If he kicks this can down the road, he will never be taken seriously again...ever. Just another con artist....like the rest of them.

I was also disappointed in the tax rates released yesterday. Trump will benefit more than anyone...wrong message.

It was also “art of the deal,” too. Laughable.

Not to mention that this CR is being passed through reconciliation where the Democrats can not stop it or filibuster it.

Why can't Trump hold fast on this?

Every move he makes is disputed and sent to a Leftist pet "judge". Give him time to get his ducks lined up because he's still fighting folks on all fronts - bad enough the GOPe RINOs are screwing him, we don't need an army of concern trolls helping them make him a one-term President.

1. We will bill the wall and Mexico will pay for the wall.

2. Mexico will pay for the wall later.

3. We are asking Congress for the money to build the wall.

4. We are asking Congress only for $1 billion as preliminary for building the wall.

5. We are withdrawing our request for $1 billion until at least September.

6. Do not worry, We will build the wall.

Ouch!

Immigration is way down. Illegal immigration at Mexico border is down 90%. Which is better a wall or no illegal immigrants crossing from Mexico?

It worst then being a one termer, he will become a lame duck if he signs a CR that does not fund the wall, but funds PP and the ACA. Trump will lose a lot of his base of voters. The GOP will lose the House and maybe the Senate in 2018. Trumps presidency is on the line, fig leaf funding in next years budget will not fool anyone. And good luck getting a conservative on the SC with Chuck Schumer running the Senate.

The GOP are testosterone-deficient cowards. If you want to find “Cheese-eating Surrender Monkeys” look no further than the Republican Party.

We wailed on Obama for bypassing Congress all the time, now we want Trump to do the same?
Congress is filled with leftists and spineless republicans. Is President Trump supposed to build the wall and pay for it also? He can’t just wave a magic wand and poof there it is.

Well while it may sound stupid, the fact of the matter is

It doesn't sound stupid at all to me. One of Trumps' bigger promises was sending the "Syrian refugees" back. "I'm putting those people on notice, if I am elected they are going back."

That was candidate Trump. President Trump is now allowing more in then during Zero last year in office. Ivanka is on the record in favor of letting the "refugees" in.
