No one voted for Trump because of the Access Hollywood tape. They voted for him because of his issues; most prominently, his promise to build a big beautiful wall. And whos going to pay for it? MEXICO!
You cant say that at every campaign rally for 18 months and then not build a wall.
Do not imagine that a Trump double-cross on the wall will not destroy the Republican Party. Oh, well get them back. No, you wont. Trump wasnt a distraction: He was the last chance to save the GOP.
Millions of Americans who hadnt voted in 30 years came out in 2016 to vote for Trump. If he betrays them, theyll say, You see? I told you. Theyre all crooks.
No excuses will work. No fiery denunciations of the courts, the Democrats or La Raza will win them back, even if Trump comes up with demeaning Twitter names for them.
It would be an epic betrayal worse than Bush betraying voters on no new taxes. Worse than LBJ escalating the Vietnam War. There would be nothing like it in the history of politics.
Hes the commander in chief! He said hed build a wall. If he cant do that, Trump is finished, the Republican Party is finished, and the country is finished.

If you're taking Trump literally you're making a mistake. Trump needs to taken seriously but not literally. He's gotten an amazing amount of stuff done even with the GOP congress backstabbing him left and right.
> he might be doing something on H1B, but hasnt killed the program,
Trump's reform on H1B is very good. He's punishing companies that are abusing it and redefining it into it's original purpose to bring over talent that American doesn't have. He can't eliminate it because the GOP congress and their big business buddies.
>and the wall? Well, seems like hes trading it off for something else. Thats not necessarily a double-cross, but his credibility is at risk. If Trump sells out, in my opinion hes one and done as a president. I expect more of Trump, hold fast, even let the Democrats and RINO republicans shut down government if thats what it takes. Instead, Trumps the one rolling over. Disappointing.
It might not be the right time to shutdown the government to get things done. Hell Trump may not even have enough 50 GOP votes in the senate for the wall even with the 60 requirement. Trump's primary problem in governing is the lack of congress being willing to work with him. They may call themselves republicans or conservatives but they're still owned by the guys who fought so hard to stop Trump.
He needs time to fix this or we need to apply pressure to congress for him. Those congress critters need to know that they're going to get primaried if they don't implement Trumps agenda.
Trump has until 2020 for me to hold him accountable.
However, the GOP’s reckoning will begin in 2018.
They have already proven to me by their behavior thus far that they are totally full of shit.
They can choose a different course and start doing the right thing, and they will earn my support, or they can continue on their current course and lose me forever.
And I think it behooves trump to find a way to motivate them, because I suspect that if the demonrats regain control, things will turn out very badly for him and for America, and that would be a shame.
But I’m not playing this game anymore with this useless party.
It’s do or die.
Outstanding post.
Oh, I’m not trying to convince YOU of anything. You’re clearly full of nothing but mindless spite.
I’m just pointing out to everyone else that you can be ignored because you want to do nothing but complain about the President, and his not following YOUR perfect and divine strategy is the only excuse you have for it.
If he ditches the wall permanently, maybe you’ll have an excuse to bitch. But as it is, the President is the only person in DC even trying to follow immigration law.
And you’re happy to try to shank him in the back.
Schumer stared Trump down and Trump blinked.
Pathetic.
bkmk
Trump repeatedly promised on day one to rescind Obama’s executive orders and actions giving amnesty to illegal aliens. I attended two of his Reno events and likely watched every one of the rest. He repeatedly promised this. Instead, nope, hasn’t done this. And not, this doesn’t require congressional action. Sorry, can’t blame anyone but Trump. His promise, his pen.
If Trump permanently caves on the wall, you may have a point.
But quite frankly, I don’t think he has. I believe that he’s biding his time for now while moving work on the wall forward in ways that don’t require funding.
It’s aggravating and I wish he had the power to nail every one of those traitors in the crotch so hard that their legs would split right under their neck. But he doesn’t. Not yet.
It falls on us to force Congress to act. That or arrange some shocking primary battles.
Agree.
Re: “Why can’t Trump hold fast on this?”
Because he was lying.
I’m tired of the flame war. Sorry for snapping so quickly.
A voice of reason!
We’re on the same team.

Again your taking Trump literally. I haven’t expected a single thing from day one because Trump was amping me with good rhetoric, not making a solemn promise with an exact time table.
However I expected Trump take the problems he talked about the campaign trail seriously and he is doing that. Illegal immigration is going down the tubes. The school I work at is down 20% in enrollment from illegals not enrolling and that’s in the sanctuary state of CA. They’re going back just on the threat of Trump alone. He’s taking the problem of illegal immigration, Obamacare, HB1 seriously and he’s fixing these problems. He rolled back as much as he could on Obamacare day 1. These issues are not going to have instant solutions because we don’t own enough of congress to make that happen.
The Dems have beaten us over and over again by using incrementalism. One little change here, one little change there, ect. Trump’s doing the same damn thing. First we’re just sending the illegal criminals back, then the regular illegals, then the dreamers. Bit by bit is the way to go.
If you’re frustrated that things are not going faster, start calling congress. Those bastards are slow rolling everything.
>Because he was lying.
Nevertrumper or paid Soros shill?
“But this is a minor thing on the radar in my opinion.”
That will depend on the amount of influence this pair has on the President.
Yeah, we are.
*Sighs with aggravation at the situation.*
I think I better hit the sack anyways. New job starts soon; better get on the new sleep schedule ASAP.
Well, the thing is that they were ‘influencing’ him during the campaign season, before Bannon signed on and when Trump was forming his platform in the first place.
I don’t know why it would suddenly change now.
How about some breathing room for him?
The wall will be built.
In spite of environmentalists who think walls are a problem for bats, in spite of those who profit from human trafficking (yes, NGOs I mean you), and in spite of federal judges who think they’re Zeus slinging lightening bolts.
The Deplorables are Undefeatable because they know more than one way to skin the proverbial cat. Steady on!
Your point is well taken.
