An American Airlines attendant has been suspended after smacking a mother with a baby stroller onboard a domestic flight Friday afternoon, according to passengers.
The woman had just boarded a 2:18 p.m. flight from San Francisco to Dallas when the shocking incident occurred.
A video posted to Facebook by Surian Adyanthaya caught the tumultuous aftermath.
OMG! AA Flight attendant violently took a stroller from a lady with her baby on my flight, hitting her and just missing the baby, Adyanthaya captioned the video.
The footage doesnt catch the moment when the flight attendant allegedly struck the woman, but the atmosphere in the cabin gets tense as a man steps in to defend her.
Hey bud, you do that to me and Ill knock you flat, the man says to the attendant as the distraught woman stands to the side clutching her baby, with tears streaming down her face.
You stay out of this, the attendant fires back.
The man then takes a step forward and the attendant immediately turns confrontational.
Hit me, cmon, bring it on! the attendant shouts.

I suspect she wanted the stroller with her because she has twins. It would be a nightmare trying to carry twins along with your purse and whatever else you have to carry and not be able to plop the babies in the stroller until you claim your luggage. Not sure, but if it was me, that stroller would be pretty darned necessary.
Of course I dont think it was correct for the FA to hit her, but I didnt see that on the video. The male passenger says the FA almost hit her in the head, so I dont know if she did or not.
I think the guy said you almost hit/hurt a baby, not the woman. That seems to be established.
I will not trust my life to a stewardess who cannot control his temper.
I'd also demand a full refund, and name this stewardess as the reason.
I'd also encourage as many of my fellow pax as I can to follow me.
Totally agree.
It is really chilling when the FA tells the other passenger “you stay out of this”. Wow.
These folks think that if we see someone assaulted, we should stay out of it. This is just crazy.
Commercial air travel has become torture and people are snapping. Unless its character is changed, this is just the beginning. I was on a flight where the guy in the seat behind me yelled and almost hit me because I was “moving too much” in my seat. Flight attendant had to intervene. That was several years ago.
Probably because the flight officer who is shown in the video holding back the out of control flight attendant recognized that the passenger was right. When you've got passengers who think that they need to stand up to physically defend a female fellow passenger who they saw be physically assaulted by a crew member as a flight officer you know you have a problem.
When the flight attendant tries to start a fight with the passenger who is trying to restore order you know you have a big problem, and it isn't with the passenger.
Not surprisingly, it has been reported that American Airlines immediately removed the flight attendant from duty.
No, he said the bald attendant almost hit the baby. Have you actually listened to the tape?
I am curious to know if the male AA employee was a gate agent or a flight attendant. They would have had to fly together if he was part of the crew.
"When your wackadoodle, woman hitting, 'roid raged, stewardess told me to stay out of it, I assumed he wanted me to stay out of the plane.
Where's my refund?"
And if the gate attendant demurs, "I want to talk to your supervisor RIGHT NOW."
Keep going up the chain of command to the CEO if necessary to get this stewardess removed from any position that requires him to have any public contact what-so-ever.
Start each level with "I'm not mad at your [gate attendant][area supervisor]...[vice president, whatever], but he/she/it wisely recognizes that he/she/it doesn't have the authority to fix the situation, so I'm coming to you to advise you that this stewardess is a loose cannon, and I would be in fear of my life flying under his control, therefore you have failed to provide the service contracted for and paid for; safe transit to my destination.
Please refund my money to heal the breach of contract and allow me to seek alternative transport with a more customer-centric carrier..."
Multiple witnesses said the bald attendant yanked the stroller violently away, striking the mom and nearly hitting her baby. You think that might have something to do with it?
Let me ask this. Does the bald attendant seem like a cop to you?
>>Let me ask this. Does the bald attendant seem like a cop to you?<<
No, but as I said, I am surprised he didn’t CALL a cop to put Mr. Macho off the plane.
Some airplanes have a closet where they can store umbrella strollers and golf clubs.
I traveled with my baby son back and forth from the UK. Not a pleasant experience. Very unhelpful staff at Delta. No diaper changing table. Long story. Sooo bad I wrote a certified letter to the Delta CEO. Trip back was more pleasant and was provided a bassinet......which I had reserved on original flight but was denied.
Would they?
The pilot has the ultimate authority as to what happens on the plane, and who can fly with him or her.
If the pilot says they won't allow this woman hitting, baby imperiling, out of control stewardess on their flight, they don't fly on their flight.
The airline has a legal responsibility to provide as safe an environment as humanly possible. This clown nearly hit a baby!!!
>>And if the gate attendant demurs, “I want to talk to your supervisor RIGHT NOW.”

Yeah, you do that.
Should work out great.
I’m sorry, but I don’t mean to attack you, but you should really read more about this before you go off half-cocked or is it half-cucked these days.
This video starts near the END of the episode. It’s not representative of the facts.
How many drunks have you known? (yourself not included). This passenger IN NO WAY appears drunk!
“Why she thought she could demand to keep the stroller makes no sense to me.”
Who said she “DEMANDED” to keep the stroller? I read that she was told by an airline employee that she could take the stroller on the plane if there was room in the overhead compartment for it.
She had TWIN toddlers, a lot to carry any sort of distance.
” I wonder if shes a mule and there are drugs stashed in the stroller”
Maybe she’s a hooker and has the stroller filled with condoms?
The airline employee physically yanked the stroller from her and hit her in the head with it barely missing one of the babies. That is why she is upset and crying.
More reading less bloviating will make you LOOK more intelligent.
Good for you!
I was referring to the alpha male passenger and the confrontational AA employee. Those two basically threatened each other. They would have to fly together.
“Sooo bad I wrote a certified letter to the Delta CEO.”

That’s how I do my consumer complaints. Even well-meaning customer service reps are often limited in the area of remedies. So, instead of hoping they can “escalate” whatever, I find it’s more effective to start at the top and have the top dog kick it down to be fixed.
BTW, hats off to Tony Fiero, the guy who stood up to the bald thug who endangered a mother and her baby.
One key is to present as someone who is sympathetic to the plight of the underling who doesn't have the authority, no supervisor wants you to think they don't have the authority!
That being said, if I had to go all they way up to the CEO, you can be pretty sure he will not be pleased that a mere FA caused this much stink...
