Students in a math class at Riverview High School in Florida are being persecuted for their faith. They are punished for not removing their cross jewelry. They are harassed for not embracing the LGBT agenda pushed on them by their lesbian teacher. But one ninth-grade student is pushing back. Her attorneys filed a demand letter requiring the teacher to cease and desist by close of business Thursday.Cross.jpg - 500
Parents told Liberty Counsel that at least three students were not allowed to wear their cross necklaces. Math teacher Lora Jane Riedas claimed they were gang symbols. When one student asked why, Riedas told her she was disrespectful and she must take her necklace off. The necklace held a crucifix less than an inch long. The student felt she was forced to deny her faith.
Riedas is a member of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Networks Leadership Institute. She engages in blatant LGBT political activism in her classroom. Her classroom is decorated with LGBT insignia and rainbows. She decorated students notebooks in rainbow stickers without their permission. She singled out one student for several false misbehavior claims after the student removed the sticker from her notebook.
Riedas has plans to promote GLSENs Day of Silence Friday. GLSENs guide requires students to take part in political activism. Liberty Counsel stated that students can either go along to get along or risk being outed as disagreeing with the teacher. Students are encouraged to support the LGBT agenda and Day of Silence by not speaking. Those who speak will be required to answer class questions.

The irony.
The Cross is about being profane and worldly, like this teacher and the liberal leftists?
I don’t think so.
If so, she is right and it is just a gang symbol.
“Safe Schools for All”....apparently not.
King Nebuchadnezzar tried to force 3 young fellas to bow down and worship his image- they didn’t compromise- even though they knew it would likely mean death- God did inter vein in a supernatural way for them- however, they didn’t know that God would- They only knew that there was NO WAY they were going to bow down and worship a king
Sadly these florida kids bowed down so fast they got nose bleeds
Yes. I applaud this high school kid...it is hard enough being a teenager and feel like you fit in, never mind being forced to fit into a crowd you don’t agree with.
I feel the same way. In life you will have to stand up for what you believe. I’m glad to see that at least the one student knew how to deal with their persecution.
Why am I not surprised at forced indoctrination by public schools.
Until parents start storming school board meeting and demanding change, nothing will happen.
[[The student felt she was forced to deny her faith.]]
NO she wasn’t- she CHOSE to deny her faith- She should have stood her ground and then hired a lawyer AND gone to the newspapers to expose this ILLEGAL act by the teacher-

Feel free to call and express your displeasure with lesbian teacher Lora Jane Riedas making students remove their cross jewelry and participate in LGBT activities, such as the day of silence. Let them know that because of this teacher, they are getting national attention, in a bad way.
Note: Courts have ruled many times that a single phone call is NOT harassment if you simply express your opinion (without threatening language, etc.).
I am a Christian. But no student (or staff member) should be allowed to exhibit any religious symbol in a public school. So a crucifix is out, as is a Star of David, as is a hijab.
Public schools, military installations, government offices, etc. ... all must be religiously and politically neutral. Wear a crucifix, a Star of David, etc. if you wish. But keep it under your shirt when you are working at a public institution.
I am STRONGLY against the hijab. So note this. If you allow the crucifix at a public school, you must also allow the hijab.

Matthew 10:33English Standard Version (ESV)
33 but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.
Just say NO.
When I was in high school I did that when they tried to force me to do activities that I didn’t want to do. I had to stay in detention during the activities but that was OK by me.
Students really need to learn to say NO to these control-freak teachers and administrators.
Public schools are a largely failing enterprise. Best to get out if you can. If not, fight back by not participating in this foolishness.
Just call it a Hijab Cross, and whisper Allah Ackber at them.
Get a lawyer? Whose side are lawyers on? Who do they contribute to? Pffft.
They only understand their own tactics, and hate whoever uses them successfully in reverse.
Wear big crosses and Jesus and US flag tee shirts, plaster cross and US flag stickers on notebooks. Hold prayers at flagpole before, at lunch and after school. When disciplined loudly yell “Bully!” over and over. Recite First Amendment, with reminder this is public property, throughout the day. Video everything.
If touched or assaulted or rights violated, call police immediately.

Oh, yes, I certainly agree. But what do you do when some Muslim quotes the Koran as a basis for wearing a hajab in class, and for banning pork chops in the school cafeteria?
The United States was founded as a Judeo-Christian nation. It’s a real shame that the Founders did not somehow incorporate that into the Constitution.
