A gunman "randomly" opened fire Thursday morning on Laclede Gas employees working in the city's Hamilton Heights neighborhood, killing two before shooting and killing himself, police and a witness said.
The shooting was reported about 11:16 a.m. in the 5900 block of Minerva Avenue, on the western edge of the city.
Police said two Laclede Gas workers, one in his 20s and the other in his 50s, were fatally injured when the gunman "randomly" fired at them, according to St. Louis Police Capt. Mary Warnecke. The gunman then killed himself, though that appears to have been at a different location.

"...pack your pistol..."
Yeah. Sad, but true.
I agree with you. Just saying that vets should have concealed carry privilege with no other requirement. Show a DD214 with “Honorable” and you can pack.
Everyone else can do the routine with no let or hindrance.
Your tagline hits the mark. Either carry at all times or not at all.....the probability that you will need a firearm to protect yourself or innocent life the day you decide to leave your firearm at home is significant.
EODGUY
“Carry safe, always carry, everyday, everywhere.”
Been doing that for 25 years.
Yes. Again the shooting victims were white and the shooter/suicide was black. They were in a black and violent neighborhood according to FOX.
American no-go zones....................
Navy small arms training consisted of one day firing Garands when I was in bootcamp. Before shipping out to Nam we were given 2 days at Pendleton firing M14s, 1911s, M16s and Remington 870s. Oh yeah and throwing a few grenades. When I got to Nam I had to learn to use the M60, M79 and Ma Deuce on the job. The only good shots in Nam in the Navy learned at home like I did. God help you if you are relying on a Navy Shore Party to save your a$$. 90% of sailors are totally clueless. And so what. It’s not like they ram and board any more.
At the link the photo of all the workers gathered around the crime scene are people of pallor. These thugs are biting the hand that feeds them.
I am not a vet. I was taught marksmanship by my late father starting when I was 6 or 7. Dad was a Marine who after getting filariasis after the battles of Guadalcanal and Bougainville was sent stateside to recover and was given temporary duty as a prison guard at the Portsmouth Naval prison on the Maine / New Hampshire border. The way he described some of the prisoners I would suggest that not every vet should be allowed carte blanche with weapons. At least no more than any other citizens.
I shoot with a couple of Vietnam era vets who are less than exemplary at safety.
As a club range officer I have had to take folks to task.
In general you are correct though. Most vets are better than folks who were never in the service
Constitutionally every man and woman should have unfettered access to weapons
The Second Amendment?? .......It’s a RIGHT. Not a privilege for the elites.
And in fact quite close to the zoo and Wash U.
I'm not getting that at all.
Ok it looks a bit run down now that I visit more closely online.
sad to say this, but this is why I don't care about Chicago/Baltimore/Detroit/Philly driveby shootings....let them reap what they sow...
Probably a vengeful hostile work place incident, where someone got the bastards that were ruining their lives. It happens all the time. If it was, then G-d bless the shooter...if it wasn’t...then Hell awaits. There will be justice in the end, G-d assures us. Most don’t realise it, but most workplace shootings are actually the result of this. Push someone too far....and BANG BANG BANG....and good riddance of the trash. Sad, but true. The truth never comes out.
“Carry safe, always carry, everyday, everywhere.”
Sounds like a ping list.
That’s the first one, and even he didn’t go down immediately. The second one would have had a fair chance.
So this was another black on white assassination?
I remarked to my wife about an hour ago how the racist, Islamic killings of the whites in Fresno sure got off the “news” quickly. Cf. Dylan Roof and the WEEKS of coverage
Not a workplace issue at all, whatever else it may have been. Two guys out digging a gas line for a new service to a house, and a non-employee walks up and offs them, and then himself.
I always thought that a concealed carry permit should be automatically granted to any military who had an honorable discharge.
And I will add that they were trained and showed proficiency with the fire arm as well.
