The Murdochs have decided Bill OReillys 21-year run at Fox News will come to an end. According to sources briefed on the discussions, network executives are preparing to announce OReillys departure before he returns from an Italian vacation on April 24. Now the big questions are how the exit will look and who will replace him.
Wednesday morning, according to sources, executives are holding emergency meetings to discuss how they can sever the relationship with the countrys highest-rated cable-news host without causing collateral damage to the network. The board of Fox News parent company, 21st Century Fox, is scheduled to meet on Thursday to discuss the matter.

Lou Dobbs would be a good choice, I also really like Mark Stein Dana Parino is HORRIBLE!!! Eric is OK replacement also!!!
This is just wrong on all levels
I didnt always agree with OReilly, but he turned the spotlight on a lot of injustices
The way Murdoch handled this is sickening
I agree.
Shepard Smith and Geraldo Rivera and Bob Beckel could team up and have a show. /S
Especially when they are bringing in their replacements like Dana Perrino, Shep Smith, etc.
Laura Ingraham would be my choice if he is replaced.
I agree. Before the election, she was hoping to be the new David Gergan. But since Hillary didn’t win, she had to stay at FOX. And I can’t see any reason why she is there. She has nothing positive to say about any Republican and nothing negative to say about any Democrat.
The biggest shot in the foot any TV network has ever given to themselves. You don’t take a consistent, top ratings-getter off the air unless he’s sent to prison.
This is a massive, unprecedented victory by the left. They’re forcing businesses to make decisions not based on what’s good for business, but based on fascist threats. It will embolden them to do more and more with their ongoing mob protests. If our side can’t counter this movement, many, many more fails are in our future.
No problem. I’m just very skeptical of news nowadays.
Do you think BO as in Barack Obama will get the slot?
O’Reilly was a ratings-getter not just because of his politics but because he knew how to be a good host and a compelling broadcaster. Megyn Kelly is the only other one Fox had that could seem like a relatable human on camera and not be repetitive or tedious for an hour. They’re committing ratings suicide with this move.
If they had been able to retain Megyn and put her in the 8PM slot, then this move might have been able to be justified as a reasonable business decision. But to do this without having a suitable replacement in line means every investor in this network should bail in a hurry.
I miss the old days when news programs showed actual news... topics other than US politics. Its a big world, and there's a lot happening.
Fox (and others) spend 95% of their time covering politics. The only exception is mass murders and natural disasters. Every political story could usually be covered in about a minute... instead every political tidbit gets read, the they have 2 "experts" come on to debate each other for another 10 minutes. It's nuts.
"Journalists" are lazy these days. They don't investigate things... they sit there and have an endless parade of "experts" come on to spew their opinions on things.
Advertiser boycott worked, highest rated cable program in the slot or not, it was too difficult to sell ads and there was no end to the drip, drip, drip.
You might want to Google about O'Reilly's divorce, in his personal life he's a piece of work, which would lead me to believe that there was at least some truth to the allegations at Fox News.
O’REILLY ‘SUBJECTED TO BRUTAL CAMPAIGN OF CHARACTER ASSASSINATION’
Marc E Kasowitz, attorney for Bill OReilly said in a statement: ‘Bill OReilly has been subjected to a brutal campaign of character assassination that is unprecedented in post-McCarthyist America.
‘This law firm has uncovered evidence that the smear campaign is being orchestrated by far-left organization bent on destroying OReilly for political and financial reasons.
‘That evidence will be put forth shortly and is irrefutable.’
I think the Murdoch sons are not conservative and would love to find someone to tilt the network further left.

You weather the storm. We all know how fast a “hot news story” gets forgotten. Imus made it back on the air. The left knows when they’re losing and when it’s time to redirect their resources to another front. If you aren’t willing to stare them down then they will win on the issue, and THEN move on to their next attack and victory.
yep.
rupert’s kids are notoriously left.
fox will sink like a stone
