The Murdochs have decided Bill OReillys 21-year run at Fox News will come to an end. According to sources briefed on the discussions, network executives are preparing to announce OReillys departure before he returns from an Italian vacation on April 24. Now the big questions are how the exit will look and who will replace him.
Wednesday morning, according to sources, executives are holding emergency meetings to discuss how they can sever the relationship with the countrys highest-rated cable-news host without causing collateral damage to the network. The board of Fox News parent company, 21st Century Fox, is scheduled to meet on Thursday to discuss the matter.

You don’t understand the case. HR didn’t get ONE complaint about O’Reilly ever, until after this woman had a press conference and Fox said she never complained to them.
The guy mentioned O’Reilly’s DIVORCE, which is why I made my comment about personal life.
O’Reilly is a public figure with an AUDIENCE. Show me one time Hollywood cancelled any TV or movie star’s contract because of some kind of sexual indiscretion. Usually they get a promotion for stuff like that.
Bill O’Reilly, meet Golden Parachute. In O’Reilly’s case, however, it may be a Platinum Parachute.
He's 71. Too old.
Sharyl Attkinsson would be an interesting choice.
LOL. I really liked his TV show. Made me laugh all the time. They kept pushing it back later and later, but I would stay up to see it.
Trish Regan is even easier on the eyes.
Huge mistake.
My favorite is Varney.
The O’Reilly factor is news, personality, some fun, and some insight.
Varney has all of those in spades. If nothing else, he can be the anchor for a year or two while Fox tries to raise up a replacement.
They don’t really have anyone else that I’d put there. The nevertrump crowd will have half of O’Reilly’s fan base disappear overnight. While they were burying Trump, O’Reilly was being pretty fair to him.
Gutfeld simply doesn’t have the skill. Perino is stiff and nevertrump. Boling is stiff. Waters is too new at this. I like Regan, but she’s more suited for Megyn Kelly’s slot. Hume was nevertrump and is truly stiff. Wallace is a hillary supporter and annoying as hell.
Steyn is okay, but not really connected.
Steve Doocey is a possibility. Varney is a possibility.
I have a feeling that BOR’s audience is in that age range Dobbs would be a good replacement!!!
Rush’s TV show was how I first discovered him. Even a single half-hour a week would be terrific!
It would expose him to millions of people who can’t listen to the radio during the day.
Lou Dobbs is the only show I’ll bother with. He has my vote. Should leave BOR where he is, but News Corp doesn’t care about what I think.
Jesse Ventura!
Without O’Reilly’s TV show, we would have President Clinton right now. Guaranteed. It isn’t “just” anything.
Just ask him.
If true, Tucker at 8, promote Trish Regan (Megyn Kelly’s groomed heir) to 9, and Hannity at 10.
They’re going to take a hit in the ratings, but will still be #1.
I'd like to know how much of hit those advertisers leaving had in cash flow.
Other advertisers had to step up and fill the slots and could have received hefty discounts for doing it.
I don’t like how advertisers are bowing so easily to the new fascists.
Jeanine Pirro is my favorite. Not sure I spelled her name right.
Stewart Varney would be good.
BOR was ok when he started out. Can’t stand to watch him now. In fact, most of Fox news is unwatchable now. Sometimes I turn on Tucker Carlson and Hannity, but don’t really listen. Just want them to get the support.
If I listen to anyone, I listen to Fox Business News. Stuart Varney, Maria Bartiliromo and Lou Dobbs. Mostly, I just read the headlines on line, and select what I’m interested in to read, lurk on a thread, and sometimes chime in.
