The presidential election of 2016 shocked the world, but no one was more shocked than Hillary Clinton. A new book on the Clinton campaign contains the revelation that Clinton had to be pressured into conceding her loss on election night by then-President Barack Obama.
POTUS doesnt think its wise to drag this out, White House political director David Simas is reported as saying to Robby Mook, Clintons campaign manager.
The campaign did not concede at that point.

Oh to be a fly on the wall and watch Hillary melt down that night... Worth more than all the money in the world.

I smell horse apples. Obama telling Hitlery to concede? No. Way. In. Hell.
The story is being pushed now to frame Obama as the Saviour of the Republic.
I doubt that he intervened as well.

What did he hope to gain from her concession?
He salvaged some dignity for the Democratic Party - she could only have shredded more credibility for all Democrats by hanging on. And maybe he just wanted to concede the obvious - I'm not going to refuse to credit Obama for doing the right thing when he finally does it, though his presidency was a catastrophe for the nation.

He attempted to salvaged some dignity for the Democratic Party.
Again, he was a total failure.

The most notable damage was located deep in the VIP room of the Clinton camp. A custom 150 inch ultra HD TV, a gift from the Saudi Arabian government, was found with a broken screen. The damage was caused by a $950,000 bottle of champagne that was believed to have been thrown at the screen by the former presidential candidate some time during the election.
Early in the morning, the custodial staff were greeted by flipped-over tables as the floors were covered with expensive food, drinks, and appetizers. Broken champagne flutes and gilded silverware were also seen scattered around the would-be party room.
The most telling sign of a massive meltdown was the cake. The pastry that had once proudly displayed the presidential seal, was violently flung against the walls in chunks. A broken topper from the cake in the shape of the white house was discovered lodged firmly into the drywall near the dessert table.

"President Barack Obama thought it was over and did not want a messy recount.
Of course he didn't want a recount. Jill stein showed why.

Yes, and they would have had to do it across, really, four states because they couldn’t be sure any one of them would do the trick.

Democrats haven’t conceded to a Republican presidential candidate on election night since 1988.
It’s just not going to happen anymore. The Democrats ended the peaceful exchange of power in this country decades ago.

Exactly, this is why Obongo pressed her. In the brief Mi recount it was already being revealed. In Detroit they found ballot boxes with more votes counted then existed inside the boxes once they were opened. The recount was stopped very early who knows what they would have found.
Which is why I'm convinced, more than ever, that there is a Wayne-Washtenaw county vote fraud axis (Washtenaw = Ann Arbor).

As I wrote in “How Trump Won,” Jake Sullivan knew she was going to lose, and I think he pretty well convinced Podesta the night before the election. If you watch “The Circus” episode the night before the election, Podesta was anything but confident, and seemed to say, “Well we have some good numbers but . . . .” I knew right there he knew they were losing.
My suspicion is, though, that he couldn’t-—and Sullivan wouldn’t-—tell Cankles it was over.

In the end, Hillary's own arrogance did her in. Just the fact she totally ignored the advice of Paul Begala, James Carville and her own husband (you know, the troika that actually won the 1992 election) speaks volumes, to say the least.

I would imagine once it started to look bad for them she started to loose it to eventually being hidden from public view. Hence the “go home” speech at which point it was over for her. I don’t think she was mentally or physically able to give a concession speech at that point.

I would love to have been a fly on Hillary’s wall on Election night. I’m wondering what her reactions, temper, etc. was as state by state went to Trump. And, what the hell was happening when she left her minions in the hall waiting for her to come speak? She basically just told them all to screw off, they weren’t important enough, or, she was going batsh*t crazy behind the scenes and wasn’t able to be seen in public.

Given his antics following Trump’s taking office, and the lack of calling protesters to fall in behind the President, I find it very difficult to believe he was so magnanimous on Election night—when no one was looking at him.

I stayed up until 4:30 AM Eastern time on election night.
I wasn’t tired at all. I even recorded President-Elect Trump’s victory speech. I was “jazzed,” as Rush would say.
It was a great night, in spite of the morons at the major networks taking forever to call Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, as well as Michigan.
I followed the 10,000+ postings election thread here on Free Republic.
The icing on the cake was when Bloomturd’s “universal” super-duper background checks ballot initiative here in Maine was defeated.

I watched the thread here on FR and the SOS sites, esp in Pennsylvania. Once it became evident Trump was going to win, I kept hitting refresh to hurry up the Pa. precinct counts!
After AP et al declared, I went and woke my wife and said “Trump won” “He did”?
(Huggings followed) Her: “Are you cryin’”?
Yes, I was. Tears of joy.
