KABUL, Afghanistan At least 94 Islamic State militants were killed by the largest non-nuclear bomb ever used in combat, an Afghan army spokesman said Saturday.
Maj. Sherin Aqa, head of public affairs for the 201st Corps in eastern Nangarhar province, where the GBU-43B was detonated, said ISIS commanders are among the dead.
Our latest reports indicate that four main commanders are among the 94 people killed, Aqa told Stars and Stripes.

This was a real setback for ISIS. MOAB could have completely wiped them out.
How mahy were illegal immigrants?
How are they getting these numbers? Is someone sifting through the rubble? I don’t believe this crap for a minute.
“Circular error probability zero.
Impact with high-order detonation.
Have a nice day.”

Clear and Present Danger (1994)
Death is by concussion & flying debris, mostly.
We used to drop 1/4 lb. blocks of TNT off Namo Bridge north of Danang to deter NVA frogmen. The concussive effect is more pronounced in the much denser water. (of course, 11,000 lbs explosive vs 1/4 lb also is a factor... ;-) .. )
There’s has to be a lot of body parts laying around. Probably doesn’t smell like fried chicken though.
Obama probably paid for the bases construction in the first place
We probably should have been using more of the MOABs all along. I also kind of miss the days of the gunsight videos. Nothing quite like the the enjoyable feeling of seeing a Toyota pickup truck full of goat humping muslims (along with their RPGs) being vaporized by smart munitions.
“What bodies?”
I am sure some bodies are still buried. I wonder if any were vaporized? That is turning out to be quite the ISIS nest.
I hope it was a drug lab
I am not sure but I believe that the bodies would be more like pools of jelly

I don’t think terrorists being killed by the score in one fell swoop will be good for recruiting.
Used to be a Freeper that would post a daily thread/ping called warporn with those gun sight video’s.
A lot of Hellfire missile strikes etc.
i wonder what happened to that guy...
This MOAB bomb was estimated to carry 21,600 lbs of TNT. LINK
That is 10.53 tons of TNT. (1 ton = 2000 pounds)
Definition of a kiloton: LINK
The Hiroshima bomb was pegged at 15 thousand tons of TNT and the Nagasaki bomb was pegged at 21 thousand tons of TNT. LINK
Wonder how you count and categorize folks who vaporized.
