Well, one thing about it. United should have plenty of seats available now.
Now we’re talking!
Oooo I’m flying them next week. Come to Papa baby.
Cash or “company credit”?
Good to know! I travel Delta almost exclusively. Let the bargaining begin!

I believe it is cash from what I’ve read.
“How one woman made $11,000 after getting bumped from a Delta flight”

Submit your claim, see you in eighteen months with your voucher.
One of the best reasons when you have a dispute to always ask to speak to the supervisor!
Surprised they don’t pay it back with Sky Miles or some other crap where they just get you to fly more often and the end result is they get more of your business/money.
Have a silent auction. Pay the lowest n bids for the n needed seats. The free market system is a wonderful thing.
That’s exactly what I mean by “airline monopoly money”.
It’s Sky Miles.
Let me see. Should I book with an airline that may beat me up for me not allowing them to inconvenience me or should I book with an airline that may reward me for inconveniencing me? Let me think..........
‘Compensation’ is a tricky word.
How much is a 1st class/Business upgrade under this? Voucher?

This link seems to have some detail on how it goes:
http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2017/04/11/what-are-your-rights-if-you-get-bumped-from-a-flight
From the link I posted above:
“As you can see, in many cases youre entitled to a sizable cash payment, up to $1,350. However, heres the dirty secret of the airlines. In a vast majority of cases theyll only offer cash compensation if you specifically ask for it. Otherwise theyll offer you the same voucher they gave anyone who was voluntarily denied boarding.”

Not only that, but the people that do fly UAL will probably be treated like gold - excellent food, an abundance of food and drink...all free of charge.
That is, until the planes become full again.
That’ll teach them not to bump. Because now that people know they can hold out for almost 10G any flight where they bump people will lose them money.
