Candace Marie Claiborne has become the first Clinton-era State Department employee indicted on treason charges, after a federal grand jury indicted her for conspiring to defraud the U.S. government, concealing contact with foreign spies, obstructing an official proceeding, and making false statements to the FBI.
Claiborne, a veteran State Department employee who possessed a Top Secret security clearance, concealed her extensive contacts with Chinese intelligence agents, who for years lavished her with thousands of dollars in gifts as part of a pay-for-play scheme, according to a Department of Justice press release.

Not completely “out in the open”. The Clinton Foundation has an affiliated Foundation in Canada. Money “donated” to that Foundation are then redirected to the main Clinton Foundation. Canadian law prohibits the disclosure of donor information; hence, such payments are effectively “laundered” before being given to the main Clinton Foundation.
Persons connected to the Clinton Foundation claim that very little money came into the Clinton Foundation via this conduit .... but to my knowledge no actual audit of those claims has been made. One should bear in mind that we’re talking about people who think in terms of “a million here, a million there and pretty soon you’re talking about some real money.
Take out the words “Former” and “employee” and it makes a much better headline!

she is already “dead spy walking”.
Regardless, she is a career employee who was hired in 1999. She served 8 years under Bush 43 in addition to the 4 under Hillary. She was a low level employee.

The DOJ is moving forward with the easy to prosecute charges. Probably will threatening to move up to treason charges but she will sing and take down some more fish.

She had top security clearance. The Chinese didn’t waste their time and money on her because she was a nobody.
Foreign Service secretaries have TS clearances and higher depending upon the job. They are often targeted by foreign intelligence agencies because of the access they have. So are communication personnel. FYI: I served 28 years as an FSO.
My point is that this woman was a career employee, not a Clinton political appointee.
Notice she was a Hilliary Clinton employee, and not an employee under the Obummer administration.
