The US military and intelligence community has intercepted communications featuring Syrian military and chemical experts talking about preparations for the sarin attack in Idlib last week, a senior US official tells CNN.

...And incidentally captured traffic with Trump coordinating the next election fraud with Russia...
Were they unmasked ?
The BS comes thick and fast from the MSM
It’s CNN, so we at least know that our people did NOT intercept this type of communication.
Syria is old news. The intervention there is done. Assad can get on with the killing now.
If this is to be believed, then the US had advanced warning that a poison gas was imminent. Did the US express to the Russians or somehow to the Syrians that such an attack would not be acceptable? If they did, those deaths may have been prevented without the US assuming a deeper, costly involvement in this quagmire.
If they got this electronic intercepts and they tracked the SU-22s to the target and back like I’ve read, and they have photographic evidence of Sarin chemical weapons from satellites, it’s open and shut.
Pootie Putin is talking out his butt.
Could be, whom do we trust? Pravda RT?
Like you said it is CNN. So we need more sources.
Probably McCain or his girlfriend again.
Maybe.
I still think the Russians at the base saw what was going on and ratted them out. Russia doesn’t need chem weapons screwing up their plans in Syria.
They know who was flying each SU-22, and it was not some General, They know who the aircrew is
Journalism is a career for the feeble minded?
the article states that the intercepts were discovered after the fact as a part of deciphering traffic for that day
WHAT????
How dare anybody impugn the veracity of a former KGB Minister of Propaganda or even consider he could possibly consider any false explanation of events. It's Inconceivable!!! /s
Please read carefuly the article. It explains clearly why the Intelligence got the info after the gas attack rather than before the attack. Sound logic to me.
Russia’s as guilty as sin. Maybe not April 4, but certainly in 2016. Our message to Assad put quite a few people on notice.

Oopsie!

US officials have said that there is "no doubt" that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is responsible for the attack.
The "no doubt" part refers to an article that is just as non-explaining as the posted article.
The US did not know prior to the attack it was going to happen, the official emphasized. The US scoops up such a large volume of communications intercepts in areas like Syria and Iraq, the material often is not processed unless there is a particular event that requires analysts to go back and look for supporting intelligence material.
Yeah, that sounds pretty definitive.
So far there are no intelligence intercepts that have been found directly confirming that Russian military or intelligence officials communicated about the attack. The official said the likelihood is the Russians are more careful in their communications to avoid being intercepted.
This is the kind of thing that passes for concrete intel?
They must think we are real idiots.
