Setting the NATO funding issues aside, why does the alliance require US interest in an issue for that issue to be addressed? That doesn’t sound like much of an “alliance” to me. It sounds entirely one sided. I’m all for America first, but why even pretend we’re in an alliance, especially when we’re still paying the lion’s share of the bills?

alliance: A close association of nations or other groups, formed to advance common interests or causes.

Note: a “common” interest—not US only interests.

The political situation in Ukraine is very complicated, and there are indeed radical nationalists who would love to provoke a war and drag us into it.
