For the first time in 12 years I am breaking two traditions for the TCMS. Each year the shoot is held at different locations; although some ranges were visited two or more times, it has never happened in consecutive years. But because my life has been a bit wonky lately I just don’t have the energy for the research and recon.
The other broken tradition is the name change. This year we will also honor my co-cat herder, NYTexan, and my beloved husband, Eaker; both of these fine men passed away within days of each other this past March.
Therefore, the shoot will mirror last year’s shoot. I spoke with the folks at Cherokee Village Resort this afternoon and temporarily reserved the entire place for October 19 ~ 22, 2017. Tomorrow I will call and confirm those dates, then post the final date to make your reservations. When calling to make a reservation, mention that you are with the TexasCowboy group. You will have to make a deposit equal to a one night stay.
The shoot will be held at Hicksville Gun Range, in Gatesville, starting at 10:00 a.m. on the 21st. Where once again we can enjoy the range dogs, the owners and lunch provided by our own cook, cpdiii.
humblegunner has volunteered to make some containers in which to place Eaker’s ashes, which will be attached to containers of tannerite so that we can all blow Eaker’s ashes into the wind. It will be an epic send off!
From their home page, if I click on several of the options on the left (photos, meet the owners, contact us, etc) I get a blank white screen with the word "false" in the upper left hand corner. Also, if I click on "cabins & cottages" and then click on a specific item like "Canyon cottage # 1" or "The Village", the same thing happens. White page with the word "false".
When you get a minute, would you mind checking and see what happens when you try these things? If it's just me, no big deal. But if you encounter the same thing, they probably need to be informed that there's a web page problem. Thanks so much. ;)

Hanging out with freepers, eating, shooting, darts, and scrabble?? More fun than we should be allowed to have!! Will have to see if the dates match up!

The object is to assemble ship (6) Captain (5) and Crew (4) and to roll the remaining 2 dice for points as cargo dice.
Highest cargo wins.
This can be for money (ante up) or drinks (losers drink)
Any range that allows 50 BMG and full auto is A OK with me.
Don’t thick Hicksville is class III but they are OK.
We a have a place over here that does full auto feral hog hunts via helicopter but they are EXPENSIVE.
I miss my Trinity River range :(

They were pretty cool.
Legend has it two guys last year blew up a couple of their target stands with some type of explosives. The range folks didn't say a word, they just grabbed some wood and screws and put em back together.
I'm guessing you go full auto and they are going to want to shoot it.

Well, the dates march up. And I am allowed to take the weekend off and go somewhere. But I have two little kids who are hoping it’s Disneyland. How frustrating, wish I could fly down there.
