Kellyanne Conway: Trump wants to work with Democrats
Washington Examiner ^ | April 11, 2017 | By KYLE FELDSCHER

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway urged Democrats to come to the bargaining table with President Trump on legislative issues and thinks they may be key to getting Trump's legislative agenda passed.

On Fox News Tuesday, Conway said bipartisan work on tax reform and infrastructure will be key to getting the administration's proposal through Congress. She said working with Trump could be key to some Senate Democrats' re-election chances.

"A number of them may want to listen to their constituents … that are saying we want some type of tax relief to allow us to spur this growth, this 3 to 4 percent growth, that allows us to retain and attract an American workforce," Conway said.

She added, "We would like the Democrats' help on tax reform, on healthcare reform, on infrastructure, and we certainly want Congress to move swiftly on all these."

IF infrastructure includes a southern wall form San Diego to Brownsville then I am good.

Fantastic idea!

Here's what you do. Let a demonicRAT write an education bill.

You could call it No Child Left Behind, Part Duh.

Not necessarily. Trump is NOT Linda Grahamnesty. He, unlike Obunghole, is merely holding out the olive branch toward the ‘Rats and saying, “We’re going to MAGA. Do you want to participate?” If they snub him, he’ll take other action. They refused Justice Gorsuch but he passed anyhow. Let’s see if any of them want to cooperate NOW.

But then that would imply they are capable of rationality and logical thinking, which has not been much in evidence of late.

Bingo, that's the gist of it. They aren't your grandfather's Democrat Party from the 1950's. They are hard-core Alinsky radicals. They aren't interested in compromise.

What's wrong with having all interested parties getting their cards on the table?

"Working with them" doesn't mean giving into them. It might mean compromising with them somewhat, but let's find out what each side's "third rail" is, right?

Who know? At this point, it might just be discovery to find out where Democrats have some give and where Trump has to ram?

It's too soon to say that he's reneged on campaign promises just because he's engaging in first contact.

When Ryancare failed he had 2 choices work the conservatives or work with the Rats. I guess we know which way it went. Ivanka and Jared need to get the hell out of the White House.

You lose republicans no matter what.

They can’t do anything, and they don’t have any positions.

What’s trump supposed to do?

The house GOP ain’t doing squat.

President Trump, first, how about working with the people who voted for you?

Mr. President, when you “reach across the aisle” with the Dems, make sure you have a two by four in your other hand. It may come in handy.

Just sayin’.

I dispute this claim. Exhibit A - the last 100 years.

“We would like the Democrats’ help on tax reform, on healthcare reform, on infrastructure...

Who’s WE?

Certainly not the people that got him elected.

We have majorities. She needs to look up the word.

I warned that this was likely when the so called Freedom Caucus decided to give Trump the middle finger. To avoid having to cut deals with the dems the GOP need to stand together with President Trump. Now not we’ll get far less than what we wanted and the Dems will set the agenda thanks to their superior unity.

GG.

>Once again, we’re going to be told by some here that this is either Fake News, or it’s more brilliance and 3-D Chess being played by Trump.

This is yours and the rest of the idiots who thought that showing party disunity and not working with Trump was better than compromising on the healthcare bill’s fault. The kamikaze caucus indeed.

Wow. Actually repealing Obamacare was a middle finger to Donald J. Trump? Were you in a coma throughout 2016?

That's fine.

If I may, then you reject the idea that Trump is an outsider who is acting as an agent for change. You are convinced that the "DC Machine" will suck him up just like everyone else. You take this as a fait accompli, without giving Trump the chance to even try.

If he should learn one thing from Poppy Bush it’s that you can’t trust the Democrats to live up to their end of ANY deal you cut with them.

And Bush didn't learn from Reagan

It’s easy to understand madison10 was not referring to their persons, but rather their agendas.

No, it’s just what they have to say.
Though some Dems are more conservative than the Tuesday Group that is blocking Trump...

You know as well as I do that there was no chance to repeal it with the GOP congress we have at present. The fact you choose to live in alternative reality populated by candy farting unicorns where the GOP had 100 votes in the senate to repeal it, isn’t useful in the real world. And now thanks to you, we’ll get single payer. Man you guys are nutcases.
