Reminds me of all the interviews of high school and college friends. They used various words to describe him considerate, thoughtful, hard working , generous etc. One word they all used FUN.

My mom used to do all the housework and I said that’s crazy, you dust and have stepdad vacuum, so she started doing that. She cooked and he usually did dishes. On the few times he cooked (had a thing he liked to make in a wok with chicken, veggies and pineapple), then she’d do dishes.

Hubby and I went looking through antique stores this afternoon. We were looking for a bench to go below a picture window we had enlarged. It’s purpose would be to provide a place for the cats and dog to sit to look outside. We found that one that was perfect! And one of the cats sat right on it. Which was surprising, They are usually pretty finicky creatures. And have nothing but distain for the things that we buy them…
Oh, I don’t mind at all doing all the “female” stuff. I’m just grateful he doesn’t complain that I do a pitiful job at cleaning. I suppose he knows if he complains then he’ll be handed the mop ;-)
He does all the outside stuff, mowing the yard in the heat, weedeating, changing oil in and fixing cars, rotating tires, not to mention fixing everything in the house that breaks. Right now he’s tearing the wall out behind the washer because it was leaking.
He does all the things that I couldn’t possibly do. And saves us a lot of money doing them. So I’ll just continue to do the few things that I know how to do…

That’s wonderful that you’re enjoying his retirement. And not feeling like he’s around too much. When did he retire?
I’m having to get used to her be working at home. It does seem like he’s around an awful lot, because he is! It’s just totally different than when he would leave for 14 hours a day.

I tried watching her online, but my eyes kept closing and my head bobbing. I just can't function the next day when my sleep is interrupted but the interruption was worth it seeing the baby boy giraffe being born.
