Pentagon: Russia May Have Directly Participated in Syrian Chemical Weapons Attack
Breitbart ^ | 04/07/2017 | John Hayward

Posted on 04/08/2017 9:22:08 AM PDT by Rusty0604

A stunning update on Friday afternoon from the Associated Press said the Pentagon is investigating possible Russian participationin the Syrian regime’s chemical weapons attack.

These officials also supported the dire suspicion that nearby hospitals were attacked to cover up evidence of the WMD deployment:

The officials say Russia has failed to control the Syrian government’s use of chemical weapons. They say a drone belonging either to Russia or Syria was seen hovering over the site of the chemical weapons attack Tuesday after it happened. The drone returned late in the day as citizens were going to a nearby hospital for treatment. Shortly afterward, officials say the hospital was bombed.

The officials say they believe the hospital attack may have been an effort to cover up evidence of the attack. The officials weren’t authorized to speak publicly on the matter and demanded anonymity. They say they’re still reviewing evidence.

According to CNN, the Pentagon is particularly interested in whether a Russian warplane actually conducted the bombing run on the Khan Sheikhoun hospital where victims were receiving treatment within hours of the attack, “with the aim of destroying evidence.”

There have been conflicting reports about whether any Russian personnel or aircraft, particularly helicopters, were present at the Sharyat airbase.

However, the Fox News report also quotes U.S. officials who said “between 12 and 100 Russian military personnel” were present at the base, complete with their own barracks, which the U.S. “took pains” to avoid blowing up. If the chemical weapons attack on Idlib province was indeed conducted from the base, it would be very difficult for the Russians to argue they were unaware a war crime was in progress under their noses.

And the very hospital that was treating the victims, to cover up the evidence! Who are these Pentagon sources?

Projection: Assad was giving Obama space with no chemical attacks so Obama could be reelected saying he was tough on Russians and Assad.

The whole Trump-Russia affair is to cover up that Obama worked for the deep Soviet state and Assad. Obama left Iraq to ISIs to let Assad and Russia recolonize the region.

Sad to say, but Trump needs an independent source of information. The same people who say Syria gassed its people are the same people who tell us Trump is in bed with Russia.

If he knows they lie about him, does he believe what they say about someone else?

Very good and worrisome question.

Well this article stinks....p wording such as ‘possible’, ‘suspicion’, ‘may have been’ and according to CNN ...along with “ officials weren’t authorized to speak publicly on the matter and demanded anonymity”.....All shows me it’s a story created to feed it’s audience rather than report the facts.

Keep up the good work.

Maybe we can start some sort of a self help group someday.

Cheers.

We live in incrediblly dangerous times, because nobody is credible. We have no way of discerning the truth unless we are eyewitnesses, and even that can be manipulated.

I’ve begun to think the human race is irredeemable at this point. We are sheep without a shepherd. Our only hope is The Shepherd who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Keith Green had a song I really like:

I was so lost but You showed the way, ‘cause You are the Way....

I was lied to, but You showed the truth, ‘cause You are the Truth...

I was dying, but You gave me life, ‘cause You are the Life... And You gave Your life for me...

More and more each day, that song says what I cling to.

McCain, Graham, Rubio and Hillary still want that war with Russia.

They may get it. If there is one, I sincerely hope they all die in it.

Im hearing there are drone videos of the warehouse after the explosion. Im going to predict the administration will halt any investigation in the UN. I am deeply disturbed by this half baked narrative. I have concluded this was an ISIS stockpile and the blame should be on them - not Assad. also , he had nothing to gain — he was winning. Why gas innocent people? They lied about Sarin gas. It is not Sarin gas. It is Chlorine or Phosgene. Nobody can work around a body dead from Sarin— YOU DIE!!! They are trying to modify to “Like Sarin gas” watch that closely. Also there are hundreds of ground witnesses and satellite videos all over the place. We have no one single fact- Just Mommy yelling — “It’s that way because I SAY ITS THAT WAY!!” This entire attack was justified on no ecvidence.None. Why is there no investigation?

Admittedly, the end result is the same. But if the choice came down to a few conscious minutes of drowning as my lungs fill up with their own dissolving tissues accompanied by convulsive seizures, versus instant fragmentation into a fine pink mist, I think I’d choose Door No. 2. There’s a reason use of poison gas in warfare was banned following its use in WWI while high explosives, machine guns, etc. were not.

Blown to shreds by indiscriminate bombing = acceptable

Killed by chemical weapons = unacceptable

You are 100% correct. After the first world war we (US Army) did intensive research to see how effective chemical weapons were. I don't remember the exact number, but it was absurd-- it cost like 10,000 times as much per casualty for chemical weapons versus conventional artillery. This was the true deciding factor for us to agree to consider entering agreements to stop using them-- because not only were they unpredictable, they were horribly ineffective and expensive. Look at this incident, for example. 72 people were killed, last I heard. They could kill ten thousand people in a few minutes with artillery, and probably have during the course of this thing. Moreover, we have no way of knowing with any confidence which side used this weapon, or if it is part of a third party's intrigue.
