It Took A War For Trump To Win CNN's Approval: "Trump Became President Last Night"
Zero Hedge ^ | 4/7/2017 | Tyler Durden

Posted on 04/08/2017 3:31:55 AM PDT by Tours

For CNN, it took a war and pointed, globalist "rhetoric" for Trump to become President of the United States. Per CNN host Fareed Zakaria on "New Day" this morning:

“I think Donald Trump became president of the United States last night. I think this was actually a big moment."

"Candidate Trump had said that he would never get involved in the Syrian civil war. He told President Obama you can not do this without the authorization of Congress. He seemed unconcerned with global norms."

"President Trump recognized that the President of the United States does have to act to enforce international norms, does have to have this broader moral and political purpose. President Trump realized, as every president has for many decades now, that they have inherent legal authority as commander-in-chief and they don't have to go to a pesky Congress every time they want military force."

“For the first time really as president, he talked about international norms, international rules, about America’s role in enforcing justice in the world. It was the kind of rhetoric that we've come to expect from American presidents since Harry Truman, but it was the kind of rhetoric that President Trump had pointedly never used either on the campaign trail nor in his inaugural."

"So I think there has been an interesting morphing and a kind of education of Donald Trump."

False headline. President Trump did not go to war with anyone. Single surgical strike does not equal “going to war”.

The notion that because people on the left support the CIC for his decision to strike is a “bad thing” is non-sequitur as well.

Don’t you know that there are many people on FR who know everything that Trump should have done? And when they are finished being an expert on whatever subject they think Trump screwed up on, they scream about how they will not vote for him in 2020. Funny thing is, today is Syria, tomorrow it will be Obamacare, next week it will be China, the following week it will be taxes.

So while many on this forum, and some conservatives in general, are one issue zealots, incapable of seeing the forest through the trees, most are just #NeverTrump agitators who like to come on this forum and bitch and moan about everything for attention.

And a single strike against a Syria airfield is not war.

Yep. The "war" should be fought by other means, like opening up oilfields in the Arctic and Atlantic. That will be far more effective against the enemy in the Middle East. We need a reset to the mid-20th c. And so do they.

President Trump recognized that the President of the United States does have to act to enforce international norms, does have to have this broader moral and political purpose.

I happen to strongly disagree with this premise. Although I understand why the President sent missiles to Syria, candidate Trump had it exactly right. The office is President of the United States, not Sheriff of the World. The globalists want a global Sheriff so they can keep making money and to hell with right and wrong.

There’s hard truth behind this military strike and all the ones that came before it in Libya and other places.

Once great nations like the United Kingdom and the United States have been reduced to debtor nations to countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar and its Gulf Arab neighbors.

Bahrain actually built a base for the Royal Navy the other year.

The once wealthy British Empire had an “Arab Legion” fighting for them.

Now the Arabs have a “British Legion” and an “American Legion” fighting for them because the Arabs are wealthy and we are deep in debt.

Trump became president November 2016, no thanks to those lame brains. President Trump was acting like the President before inauguration.

#2: "CNN now joins MSNBC, McCain, Lindsey, Schumer, Pelosi, Hillary, ISIS, AL Nusra, Al-Qaeda, Elliot Abrams (Neocon central), IMC, IC, House of Saud and many others in cheering on Trump’s attack on Assad."

Where's the guy I voted for? Did they lock him in the basement?

Trump MAGA

It is sheer idiocy to say Trump is helping ISIS. If Syria was so laser focused on defeating ISIS then please explain the chemical attacks. Why not use the gas on ISIS? This is about zero tolerance for the illegal use of WMDs no matter who is using them. PERIOD.

Unless the gas could be used to target ISIS specifically (boy wouldnt that be sweet) Trump should retaliate and STOP THE THREAT (hence my name) before it comes to US soil.

These same people bitching and moaning that we shouldnt be proactive to prevent further attacks, that we should not get involved, are the same ones carping that hillary and obama created ISIS by pulling out of Iraq. Make up your minds.

Trump is neutralizing a very serious threat. It really doesnt matter whether its Assad or the Easter Bunny behind it. Art of war

Some pretty F’ed up replies on this one from some obvious wa-na-be Freepers.
They may want to revoke or temporarily suspend their own memberships until such time they can reattach their heads properly.

“Make America Great Again” is a backhanded way of telling the truth.

America does need to become “great again” because its in hock to the House of Saud.

Because of that the USA needs to support the terrorists backed by the Saudis trying to overthrow Assad in Syria.

Remember when the economic crisis hit in September 2008 and the banking system had to band aided together.

I guess the Saudis and other Gulf Arabs got a big stake in our cash strapped country.

Because it was after that we got in behind their “Arab Spring” campaign to change the Middle East.

I voted for him so we could stay out to the Middle East quagmire, not expand it.

I guess you must have missed a few rallies.

Going as far back as 2015 Trump said he was going to bomb the (blazes) out of terrorists wherever (or whoever) they may be. To great applause.

You are absolutely right. I disagree with the missile strike but he is the president and I support him. Enjoying the Trump Presidency is like eating a fine fish dinner but knowing there might be a bone or two in it. I do believe Trump is our Cyrus and that is all I need.

You make a lot of sense. How do you know Assad was behind the attacks and not ISIS?

They would have eventually said Trump was president because of the way he opened the annual Easter Egg Hunt just to slither back from the ridiculous positions they have taken since his election. Ditto for many others on the left like Plastic Face and Chuckie.

Is that the only reason you voted for him? Who else would you have voted for? Hillary? Ya know we just got a splendid supreme court justice? Plus the other stuff he is doing. He didn’t go into this alone he was advised by the likes of mad dog whom we all cheered a few months back. Zero left us a friggin mess and we need to be patient and have faith my friend.

Well said. Trump does one thing they don’t like (... I mean, the horror of it! Stopping little babies from being gassed to death!) and suddenly this place looks like DU.

I dont. And again, this attack was against the use of WMDs regardless of who is specifically behind it. The only thing we know for certain is the gas that was used was on Syrian soil.

Thing is; we are there - since before he was sworn in. Did you just want him to pick up our ball and go home? Because Barry basically did that, and it didn’t work out so well.

Trump’s single attack was a message and a warning. The message: I’m not Øbama. The warning: You start tossing WMDs around, we don’t care who you are - there will be a reckoning! That was primarily addressed to NK, Iran, Syria with CCs to a host of others.

Global politics in this complex world is played in four dimensions. If you want instant gratification; go join the SJW league. They’re into that.

There is a more striking theory posited by a freeper.

First of all..dems dont back down...even In The face of facts. History shows this

So now watch to see for signs a deal was struck

If those that have been railing against trump on all sides are now backing down from the fierce attacks.....a deal was struck

Oh..and that likely isnt a good thing. But we will see.
