Haley forces Bolivia to defend Assad 'atrocities' in 'public view' at UN session

U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley forced Bolivia to "defend the atrocities of the Syrian regime" in "full public view" on Friday, after the country's ambassador requested a closed session to discuss President Trump's strikes in Syria.

Trump ordered the missile strikes in response to a chemical weapons attack by Syrian President Bashar Assad Tuesday which killed dozens in northern Syria.

Haley revealed the Bolivian ambassador's request for a private emergency session of the U.N. Security Council in a written statement Friday morning.

She countered: "The United States, as president of the Council this month, decided the session would be held in the open. Any country that chooses to defend the atrocities of the Syrian regime will have to do so in full public view, for all the world to hear.”

At the session, Haley stood by the U.S. actions, and said that when the international community fails to act, it is up to individual states to act themselves.

”The moral state of the Assad regime could no longer go unanswered. His crimes against humanity could no longer be met with empty words. It was time to say enough. But not only say it, it was time to act,” she said.

Well the good news is that if this mission really did destroy the chemical weapons, the rebels can’t get their filthy hands on them, neither.

Using liberal interventionist “responsibility to protect” ideology is a colossal mistake. It strengths the leftist narrative about the world and makes more disasters like Libya more likely. Sounds like Hillary could have made this statement.

I heard part of her speech today: it was terrific

I was a little worried when she was selected. Not any more she has been on fire

Everytime I get excited about somebody, they turn around and start saying stupid things about how we need to take in more refugees or play nice with Muslims.........so we'll see.

Haley's a quick study for this event...But Jeanne knew world affairs inside and out.

Have always said that she is the ONLY woman who would have made a great US President.

She may be the best choice of all the Trump appointments he has made to date.

She may be anti-Trump but she's sure pro-America.

This is Haley’s audition tape for Secretary of State.

I’m convinced she will replacing Tillerson within the year.

She has turned this Syria issue into a one-woman show. And since I think Trump is driven more by optics than he is policy, I’m sure he is wildly impressed by her.

“In other words, the only purpose of the session was to put on a public show.”

Yes, it is called exposing the bastards at the UN for what they are and calling out (in public) the perpetrators and their benefactors. It is also called leading.

I think she is just really really really smart.

She pissed off Trump voters by taking down the Confederate flag and then being pretty openly anti-Trump.

In the aftermath, she has triangulated herself perfectly in whatever the Republican Party is right now.

Traditional Republican in the Ryan mold? That’s her.
Modern Republican (younger/darker) in the Rubio mold? Her.
Open-minded on social issues? Her too.
A supporter of Trump? Hell, she’s working her ass of for the guy?
Neo-con? She’s going to get us into a war in Syria all by herself.

She’s going to be secretary of state within the year and Trump’s hand-picked successor whenever his time is up.

“Who is better than Assad in Syria? Who does the US want to see in power?”

The Syrian people.

Exactly. I don’t trust Nikki Haley. Her stand on the flag revealed that at best she is not too bright. Her prancing doesn’t impress me.
